You've lost the texture of the white and I think that is detrimental to the photo as a whole.

Interesting piece, though I haven't seen the original. My suggestion would be to try having the prongs in the foreground be the most in-focus, rather than the middle ones - the blurry foreground prongs are somewhat distracting. I'm no photographer, though, I could be completely wrong.

Yeah unfortunately my camera doesn't really allow for that (damn af crap) but I know where you are coming from and I agree completely.
