Description and I are doing a trade of cryptzoological beasts, she chose the Cadborosaurus (Caddy). I was greatly inspired by David John's accounts of the animal.
Here's some info from Wikipedia on this strange fellow:

~"Cadborosaurus willsi" is an alleged sea serpent reported to be living on the Pacific Coast of North America. Its name is derived from Cadboro Bay in Victoria, British Columbia, and the Greek root word "saurus" meaning lizard or reptile.
It is said to resemble a serpent with vertical coils or humps in tandem behind the horse-like head and long neck, with a pair of small elevating front flippers, and a pair of large webbed hind flippers fused to form a large fan-like tail region that provides powerful forward propulsion.

Oh, this looks cute! Must be the first reptile ever with a mane ;] How did you do the background, the texture? is it paper glued on the background paper? With the blue splashes looks to me like waves crashing over rocks. And the fiery lines in the background are pretty awesome, too.

It seems to be a aquatic mammal.

Thanks Ratafluke! The background is a build up of tissue paper and thick gouache paint. I like adding depth through textures
Once I created it a while ago, I thought "this looks like a water-scape...I'll use it for something no doubt" then when I created this fella, it was the perfect backdrop!

So the cadborosaurus is a cut-out glued to the background?

This is totally amazing! I love the backdrop and how the sun seems to be setting, but underneath the water. Hooray for textures too

Love the design, I hope the animal wasn't too hard to study, as I read about this creature and knew you'd come out with something awesome ^__^ I'll get round to my half soooooon!

Excellent work amigo!

We should do another round of this, me thinks?

Thankies Loafers!! I wanted to add some texture, you know me with backgrounds and fine art additions

There wasnt alot to go on study-wise, so I think that gave more free reign to do what I wanted. HOORAY!

I think we SHOULD do another round, as theres so many to go on!

Thankyou! Nah, these dont exist. Its a myth like Loch Ness. Some believe it MAY have existed but evolved into something else perhaps.

Haha, this is cool! But kinda scary, somehow? It makes me afraid of the ocean.

Thanks! Yeah I think this came out kinda dark and scary but then it is a myth and most are based on repressed fears of the unknown.
