Description
"If you want peace, prepare for war."Set this up using 55 of my Mosin Nagant's 7.62x54 rounds on my kitchen floor.
Political commentary, against the idiocy of pacifism? Likely. Protest for some cause? Unlikely. An odd idea at 4:00 in the morning that seemed amusing? You got it.

Is this supposed to be a Jungian thing? Like the duality of man?

You are putting too much thought into it.

George Carlin is completely correct and in a rational world we would be able to talk out our problems and come to basic agreements based on mutual respect and concern for others.
Sadly, petty dictators, warlords, tyrants, and other glorified bullies are not know for their rationality or willingness to work things out.Β Violence should be the option of last resort and only after all practical avenues for peaceful resolution have been exhausted, and should never be taken lightly.

Given that there are armed neutral nations that have survived World wars, Cold War, and still standing despite a 'War on Terror', I would say quite well. Β Still waiting on pacifist nations.
Evolution only requires survival and reproduction, humanity is doing ok at the moment. Β Given that we have gone from continent spanning meat grinders claiming hundreds of thousands, to a stalemate with city-killer weapons that could have casualties in the megadeaths, to small scale conflicts within a hundred years, I would say we are doing pretty well.

And the latest generation of war heroes are suffering from PTSD as well despite being safely behind a computer. Β Apparently, knowing that you are blowing people up and seeing it in high definition can cause trauma as well. Β Who knew?
No, its not "America," the United States is just one country in the larger Americas and does not speak for everyone (though it thinks it does.)  It also is not supposed to be a christian nation⦠a whole mess of crazy death cult followers and corporate interests have hijacked the country and sent it into a tailspin.
I thought the whole peace prize to obama was a joke when I first heard it. Β Never will understand how the least batshit candidate wins you a medal, but in the US have to have a prize for everyone to reinforce the special snowflake mentality so no one's feelings get hurt.
Also, thank you. Β In the 8 years my picture has been up, this is the first meaningful conversation that I have had over it. Β You have no idea how much I appreciate it, and I am glad that I did not delete it the dozen or so times I considered it. Β Debate gives you a chance to understand the viewpoint of others and revisit your own; always been of the opinion that if there is to be any hope for an end to violence there needs to be a hell of a lot more talking going on.

nice ^^
mosin nagant is such a well made rifle. too bad they made the 50 cal rifle that outplays it. but you can never kill the classics. ^^

The .50cal may have superior range and penetration capabilities, but I find the price of the gun itself and the ammunition to be too steep for my taste. Its also very... impractical for any civilian purposes. Mosin Nagant makes for an excellent hunting rifle. The .50cal, not too many wild light armored fighting vehicles running around to harvest.

Sorry about taking so long to reply.
Thank you very much for the comment & +fav.
As far as appreciation, underappreciation doesnt bother me. I dont consider myself to be a real artist, Im a biologist. I only post things that... amuse me. If I recieve comments, +favs, etc. its just like adding garnish to a nice meal: its nice but not really a necessary thing.

I know what you mean, I'm a Civil Engineering student, I've been thinking that is my career for years now...but I'd love to earn money from photography on the side too!

Thanks, I can get kinda twisted at times. Acually thinking about doing another one (making it a bit more visually appealing) in the near future.

I don't think it's twisted.
More like ironic

Every so often, I get twisted ideas like this. I just HAD to do this.
Wish I had more ammunition handy to make it look more interesting.
