It has come a long way from the first two concepts. I am still not done with it, but I like this version much better then the previous ones.It also makes more sense.

Wonderful map! I like how it still reminds you a little of the real continents but is still much different from it.

I have done things similar to this, granted I had no skill at the time and still don't so it ended up looking like a bunch of scribbly lines.

It's not as easy as it looks. There are people on dA who can make such proffesional looking maps.

There are a lot of tutorials on dA, although I didn't use any tutorials for this. I basically did what I do best, using textures to get the desired effect (and PS CS5 for the depth effect in the sea).
But you should check out . They also have a website with useful tutorials.

Yes, it's for a story I am writing. The story turned out to be much bigger then expected and I had to make a map to keep track of all the places in the story.

I never made maps before, I did what I do best. Used a butt-load of textures. Also the 3D rendering tool in PS CS5 was useful to give depth to the sea.
