I guess it really depends. If it's well written, no problem. I just wanted to avoid people going "OMG I want Nr 2! His name is Nightclaw. When he was a little cub he lost his mother to an attacking cave bear. He was very sad but he trained and became the greatest fighter, until he could take down even the largest bears, and his name was feared in all the country. The end." With a drawing I know that it takes a certain minimum efford and you can't just make a cheap quick shot so easily. That's why I didn't put writing as a general option, because I know there are people who'd try exactly that. x) So yes, something well written would be okay.
