Description
When I was a kid this was my favourite animal. I noticed that I hadn't drawn it for more than ten years. So I tried out of memory, that's why it's not anatomically correct.Related content

Hi random stumble onto this pic...excellent btw. The pose gives him personality. I like the more "mammalian" pose because dimetrodon was a precursor to more and more mammal-like creatures. We can't know, maybe they did lie down like that, looking like canines. Maybe they even had fur. I like it. Distinguishes him from some lizard.

I'm sorry, in order to sit like that his neck would have to break.

Even if it isn't "anatomically correct", I really like itβs different body (the hind legs in particular). It looks very comfortable lying there ^^
And.. something about itβs face makes it look intelligent...
A bit dragon like maybe..

Dimetrodons have always been a firm favourite of mine. They are such beautiful belligerent solar heated reptiles.
I like the pose you've given this one, most pictures of dimetrodons just have them standing about.

HEY!! Dimetrodon was my fave too!!! Heh :3 yea. it might be a lil anatomically discorrect(Lizards, expecially that big, can't lay in that pose ^__^) but i love it!!! It's somehow dog-like...

The front legs are a bit fat and the back seems a bit weird, but except from that, the drawing itΒ΄s just perfect...just as i remember from my boocks
BTW...i cannot remember if it was a "true" dinosaur or just a big reptile? I mean, i think that he belonged to Saurischia, while the most, if iΒ΄m wright, Dino predators belonged to Ornithischia O.o (i think that i spelled it wrong...too lazy to correct )

If I remember correctly Dimetrodon belonged to the Pelycosauria which had nothing to do with Dinosaurs. They are close to the group of reptiles which evolved into mammals later.

hmm, i think maybe the spine-quill-thing comes down to far, but apart from that, i cant see much fault (mostly because i dont know much about the species )
