Description I haven't been productive.
That I have in common with our WTA roleplaying group that's been on break for about as long as I.
A few things happened since the last summary, though, and it's become pretty bleak for Backslash. Guess she's gonna lose a bunch of Renown.
Sketch thing blah.

Backslash ist sehr abhängig. Die fängt an, zu retardieren, wenn sie nicht genug bekommt. Meine Wenigkeit sollte auch die 2 Tassen nicht überschreiten.

Why even bother with coffee? Just get some generic equivalent of Vivarin. That stuff is to coffee what Everclear is to alcoholic beverages.

In the game, she got some Indian coffee surrogate, green in color, with a spirit bound in it so that it never runs out. That's about the same. XD

Wish I could find a similar spirit to bind to a bottle Sam Adams Black & Tan so it never runs out. It's a coffee flavored beer and I sure could use some right now to relieve these cold symptoms.

Nice. I don't have anything in mind to say, especially since this is a scrapped doodle, and same goes for the dinosaur.
They're both entertaining, nevertheless. ^-^

Caffeine affects only 50% of the population I've heared. The rest either has a placebo effect or none at all, it's genetic. ^^

Lose some renown? How bad?

XD How much ever you lose when you piss off the Shadow Lords who run your caern. No, basically, not even that. She's just losing respect of the pack, couldn't stop the Beta from frenzying when it would have been really important and is an overall bad leader. But has had no chance to step down because the only other Alpha candidate didn't show up for the games lately. *g*

My long running werewolf game came to an end last Sunday. It was very bittersweet ending.

Hope your game gets back on track and that Slash's luck improves and that you get a new Alpha soon! It does suck getting stuck in the leader position with a character that totally does not want to have any part of it (or just totally fails at it).

Oh, please tell me about the ending of your game, if you don't mind. Bittersweet is what I think of when I hear "The Dark Tower", too, but what happened?

To go over the entirety of the ending would take a great deal of explanation. For those things, game recaps can be read here -> [link]

I never really bothered to do more then a quick spell check on them, so might run into horrible grammar errors. I also haven't finished typing up the recaps from the final two games yet either...but they should be up in a couple of weeks.

But the short version of the ending is probably best covered in list format:

* Another version of Roland is found in the character's original world. He gets dragged into our problems.

* The Man In Black is killed for good! Had obtained a Mage made fetish that had a disgruntled nanomachine spirit in it. It was very happy to devour someone.

* A PC that ended up being tied to the White (Old Mother as in the story about the stars from the books) used a Gun of Eld to lock the Tower. This pissed off the Crimson King and she got tortured for a bit until he forced her to bring him to wherever the other Gun is (alternate Roland had it).

* In the Battlefield realm the armies of the Triat have gathered. The pack goes there hoping the Crimson King will show up and can be dealt with.

* When the Crimson King shows up, all armies and the pack begin to fight against him in one epic battle.

* During the battle, the pack members who gave birth to the new Triat avatars (long story) are called upon to go to the Tower. My main character who had abandoned the pack sometime before the fight because of falling into Harano, is visited by an avatar of Luna and convinced to go to the Tower as well. In our game the Tower was actually the trapped Wyrm, so when the other PC locked it, she reinforced its bonds.

* While the battle rages on, those at the Tower manage to enter and go through all the tests required to reach the top of the Tower. Here they met Gan and were given the task of choosing what to do. They could destroy the Tower and reset everything, though they would be able to shape the events of the next world. Or they could free the Wyrm and let it go on the obvious rampage, but this would restore balance. There was much arguing over what to do and what right do they have to do it.

* Eventually they start to run out of time as the fight against the Crimson King starts to go downhill. He finds Roland and nearly kills him to get the other Gun of Eld. The pc who was "Old Mother" stops him by standing between him and Roland and deciding to try to defeat the Crimson King with "love". The Crimson King, the PC, and Roland disappear in a flash of white and red energy.

* At the top of the Tower a new option is discovered. It is possible to replace the Wyrm with a new entity to restore balance slower and without mass destruction. My depressed character is the one meant to become the replacement, but she refuses because she feels the universe does not deserve anything more from her as it has already taken so much. The others try to come up with alternatives, but none work out. My character then gets the idea that it is possible to heal the Wyrm as it is freed. It would be riskier than replacing it, but all agree to try.

* The plan ends up working the ritual to free the Wyrm is done while also using the Rite of Cleansing in combination with the level 6 Philodox gift "Release From Bondage". The Tower begins to turn into the living creature it was. Those on top happen to end up in the mouth of the Wyrm.

* At the bottom of the Tower, the Crimson King (no longer as powerful as he was and is once again "Old Star"), Old Mother pc, and Roland have appeared. Roland is back to his old self and enters the Tower before it is finished transforming.

* Balance is restored and the universe does not reset. The Trait armies do not turn on each other, although things were tensed. Some PCs did not survive all of this, while others parted ways to begin to rebuild their lives and their world. Those eaten by the Wyrm are lost from some time, but eventually all will return to their world. Old Star and Old Mother are reunited and all is good with that.

All and all, things are left open for future adventures with some of the old characters being able to return. But ending a game with a character in harano sucks a bit, even if she was the one to come up with the final plan.
