Description
Well someone commented complimenting my magical aura, and I said hey, I'll make a tutorial! My way to give back to Gmod Ponies, but well, not just them! Everyone who reads this, perhaps! This tutorial hopes you have some rather basic, and some intermediate photoshop experience. I haven't used GIMP in over 7 years, so I can't say how to do these things in it, but I am sure it is possible there too, it's a fantastic program. Also Adobe CS2 was released by Adobe themselves, so it's another free option!
Please refer to this tutorial if you want to take your posing and other such in game stuff further. Even advanced Gmodders can learn some useful shit! gmod-ponies.deviantart.com/art…
The Brushes mentioned and used can be found linked below!
The sparkles brushes: ardcor.deviantart.com/art/61-P…
The Fake glitter brushes: cacaborges.deviantart.com/art/…
Their brushes are fantastic, and without em, I wouldn't have quite the same effect!
I also wanna thank Stormbadger, they made a tutorial I used to first make magic effects, before giving my own twist. The tutorial can be seen here: gmod-ponies.deviantart.com/art… and they have a whole tutorial series, it's pretty good!
Now I also don't want anyone to just stop at this! Use it some, get it down. Then start tweaking, experimenting, make your own special method!
steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles… There's the link to the classic light stool I mention, as I didn't think, oh some people got into gmod after the switch to 13 and might not have known about the older light tool, or just never found this one on the workshop or whatever the reason. But yeah, here it is now.

Actually, not stupid at all! It's found here steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles… and works just like the light tool now, except it's smaller, and casts no dynamic shadow. Use the color tool set to the right color as the aura and the bar next to the color palette all the way down to hide it, same as a light. I'll go add a link to the classic light stool in the description now.

ah thank you. Also at the risk of sounding of topic. How much do you know a bout the advanced light tool.I have been using it but it seems like the light starts to act weird if I try to spawn more then one or mess with the shadows/light world options

No idea on that as I never used it, I always found the plain lamp worked for my needs. Maybe the author of it, i fit's on workshop can help?
