Halo = Most beautiful Creation in the Universe!
A artifical World, beautiful like Paradise and if it could "move" instead of only flowing like every normal Object...
It could move it's Lifeforms away if a near Sun would turn into a Red Giant and burn everything
A Halo would be a World which would never "end"... only the technological Structure's would need a Checkup sometimes...

Reminds me of a similar picture, only that guy purely did a photomanip. Cool to see you actually did a significant ammount of creative work in Photoshop rather than just move stuff around.
Very interesting vista, I like how you did all the stuff in the distance. And now that you pointed out to somebody else that's snow on the right, not another waterfall, I'm gonna guess that's your one stock photo, am I right? ^_-
From the title I thought this was gonna have a ship crashed on the surface, but yeah...I was wrong...>_>

x3 I'm glad you liked it! You're right, I only used one stock photo when I was making this, the rest was either painted, generated, or rendered by yours truly. Even so, I'm not nearly good enough to make a crashed ship look anything next to good in that sort of landscape. @.@

Oh of course nothing's wrong with photomanips, the guy did a great job with it too, gorgeous. It's just nice to see a traditional hand-drawn picture, even if it's not as realistic as the manip. There's a lot of stuff here I'd of thought was built off stock photos with filters and such added on, but I believe 'ya when you say there's only one. That's quite impressive indeed.
Well you see, Halcyon is the class of ship the Pillar of Autumn was if my memory serves me right, so I thought I'd see at least a silloutte of the wreckage on the horizon when I read the title and looked at the thumbnail. But you're right, maybe if it was a desolate wasteland or something, but a lush landscape like this would be tough to blend with a ship and make look good.

Oh, well, I didn't exactly hand-draw anything in this picture in the way you might think of hand-drawing, but there's still only one real photograph in it, so I guess it still counts. ~
And as a matter of fact, I did know that ship class; and come to think of it, I really should have done something with the name. At the time, I just thought it sounded cool. But I'm not very good at modeling ships anyway, so, take your pick of an excuse. xD

OMG... It's beautiful. I wish I could live on a Halo. All to myself. No Flood, no Covies, nothing. Except a StarBucks, a Barns&Noble, a shipfull of Halo and Aliens Comics and books... and a Gamestop... I think thats it. No wait... A Banshee too.

I used a little 3ds max, with Photoshop 7 being the main part. The bottom's an edited stock photograph. And I'd say it took me no more than about... say, 3 hours. Perhaps 2 1/2.
