Description You cannot use the bible as an excuse for being a homophobe if you're not actually a Christian. If you're not, why do you care what the bible says? Just admit it, you find them disgusting and are a sorry excuse for a human being.

Homosexuality isn't a mental disorder, it is a sexuality. It's obvious because it's homosexuality, not homodisorder or homomental.

I'm not religious, but I think people have a right to hate. Sure hate is stupid, I'm not a hateful person. I'm all for equality but we can't have equality if people like you don't support the other side. If a guy wants to marry another guy go head it's his right but if a person don't want to support them, go ahead let him. It's his right.

fallingpandas In reply to Breaking-Alice [2014-07-01 13:42:18 +0000 UTC]

A very interesting topic. We can't have equality without giving people a right to hate, but we can't have equality while there is still hate in the world, either. We must not hate the haters, but we must convince the haters not to hate. But we can't argue that hate is wrong, because that is hating on haters. We can't hate on haters, we can't let haters hate, and we can't hate hate. It's a paradox.

Breaking-Alice In reply to fallingpandas [2014-07-01 17:02:32 +0000 UTC]

Yes I agree, we should stop hate but we still should allow people to have their own options without forcing or hurting anyone.

Hating on homophobes? Do you expect me to feel sorry for narrow-minded individuals who have nothing better to do then call me and my best friend a fag when we walk down the main street of my home town?

Breaking-Alice In reply to Tae-Rai [2014-06-30 23:27:11 +0000 UTC]

Counter-bullying is just as bad. I don't know where you live, but where I'm from gay people are treated better than anyone else. Homophobes hardly exist where I live. I'm not saying you should feel sorry for homophobes. But is hate going to change anything. Do you think women got equal rights by hating men, or black people for hating whites? Nope. Because you know why? Because fighting hate with hate does squat. You need to take a different approach. Your hate is not going to make homophobes see that they are wrong. It will be like talking to brick wall.

I'm sorry princess but you're not special. You shouldn't get special treatment just because you have a different taste. I don't go around screaming. "Accept for for being asexual!!!"
How do you expect people to respect you if you don't respect others?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Tae-Rai In reply to Breaking-Alice [2014-07-02 21:38:55 +0000 UTC]

'Princess?' Gloves come off now.

Did I ask for special treatment? No. I want to be given my basic human rights, as every single human being deserves. I have not treated you rudely, I have not been a dick to you so there is no need for start throwing names about. You want me to treat homophobes with RESPECT? What a load of rot.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Breaking-Alice In reply to Tae-Rai [2014-07-03 03:14:27 +0000 UTC]

Princess isn't an insult. I would love to be called a princess.

However, you're not getting my point, I'm saying people will not respect you, if you don't respect them. You want human rights? Well so do homophobes. Everyone has the right to hate and everyone needs to respect your opinion but that doesn't mean they have to give up their rights just for you.

Look is it fair if somebody called you a fag? No it's not, it's rude and hurtful BUT you shouldn't call all religious people homophobes.

Look what I'm saying, you can't have respect,  if you don't respect others. Everyone has a right to have an opinion. Even if it's different from yours.

Now tell me, why is it okay to hate "Christians" and "Agnostics" but not "Atheists, blacks, Mexicans, and homosexuals"?

Tae-Rai In reply to Breaking-Alice [2014-07-03 22:16:08 +0000 UTC]

I never said all religious people were homophobes, did I? My closest friends online are Christians and they give zero shits about who I am or what I do behind closed doors.

I'm not going to give respect to people who hate. End of discussion.

I'm not saying you're saying that. I was asking a simple question.
You now, your also hating too. If you won't respect haters, then they wont respect you and others won't either.

But whatever if that's what you want, go ahead.

Homosexuality isn't a sin tho.

This is what the bible says about homosexuality:

You shall not lie with a male as with a woman. It is an abomination. (NKJ, Leviticus 18:22)

If a man lies with a male as he lies with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination. They shall surely be put to death. Their blood shall be upon them. (NKJ, Leviticus 20:13)

( Keep in mind life was harsh in early Old Testament times. The wanderings and struggle for survival of the Israelites did not permit prisons or rehabilitation. Anyone who deviated seriously from the norm was either stoned to death or exiled. The Old Testament prescribed the death penalty for the crimes of murder, attacking or cursing a parent, kidnapping, failure to confine a dangerous animal resulting in death, witchcraft and sorcery, sex with an animal, doing work on the Sabbath, incest, adultery, homosexual acts, prostitution by a priest's daughter, blasphemy, false prophecy, perjury in capital cases and false claim of a woman's virginity at the time of marriage.)

There is a tendency to confuse homosexual tendencies and feelings with acts of homosexual intercourse because the English word "homosexuality" is often used to describe both.

However, regardless of how we interpret the Bible's teachings about homosexual acts, it is important to note that the Bible does not condemn people for having homosexual tendencies. It is certain actions that are prohibited by Bible teachings, not tendencies or feelings.

A boy or girl who discovers homosexual feelings should realize that, like other interests and feelings, it may be only a passing phase that will fade away in time. Meanwhile, he or she should avoid becoming obsessed with the feelings or indulging in any kind of sexual activity.

So to my conclusion.

the sexual orientation itself is NOT a sin.
I repeat the sexual orientation is NOT a sin.
The bible is against a man sleeping with another man, same thing with human.
In other words the bible is against homosexual ACTS.

So, the same god that says to „Love thy Neighbour“ and „Thou shalt not Kill“, want his followers to Kill Homosexuals?

Just another Reason to not Believe.

XxBlackRoses In reply to Gametastic [2014-07-09 08:40:51 +0000 UTC]

Juuust a tiny little thought here....

"You shall not lie with a man as with a woman."

...

You can't lay with a man like you do a woman, cause a man isn't biologically a woman. You can not treat them as a woman in bed, cause the 'parts' are all different. Therefore the argument is invalid.

;D

P.S.

I love logic.

Aneirasilvermoon In reply to Gametastic [2014-06-28 02:31:31 +0000 UTC]

1. Sexual orientation isn't a phase.
2. Condemning homosexuals for wanting sex which is perfectly natural urge to have that they are 100% entitled to is very homophobic.
3. You're making excuses for the bible to be prejudice towards a harmless act and harmless people.
4. The whole point of a sexual orientation is that you are sexually attracted to that particular kind of person and will most likely have sex with them.  I think you're confusing romantic orientation with sexual orientation.  Someone who is homoromantic can be attracted to the same gender in a romantic, but possibly nonsexual way. If someone is homosexual this means they desire to and most likely will have sex with someone of the same gender.
5. By your logic are you saying that the bible is okay with lesbians, but dislikes gay men? That seems misandristic if you ask me.
