All I've been hearing is about the 2DS is "Boo-hoo, it's stupid! Nintendo suck! Whah-whah!" Yeah, shut up.I really like the idea of it and will be getting one soon because 1) I probably won't use 3D that much anyway and 2) I can't afford a normal 3DS to turn the 3D off anyway.
So say what you want about it, I like the idea and I think Nintendo's got the right idea going.

My old DS Lite broke because the hinge just got so worn out over the years, and it's starting to happen to my current DSi. 2DS eliminates that problem, it has 3D, and I believe it's cheaper than the regular 3DS, so I'm definitely planning on buying it.

Also the 2DS is for Children so they don't break the systems (and for parents so they can save money) and that they can't damage their eyesight with the 3D option

I've been without video games for quite a while and own no current-gen systems, and am kind of disillusioned by games as a form of entertainment.
But I like the idea of 2DS. Stereoscopy is greatly overrated and other forms of depth perception, utilizing only one angle of view, are much more helpful. I just think it has no place in video games.
Hooray for a version of the 3DS that ditches stereoscopy entirely, and cuts the price down! (I read from iSuppli that the cost difference was no more than like $14, even then, it is good) In my opinion, it is already 3D enough in the Super Mario 64 sense of the term. That and augmented reality and tilty sensors.
I dunno, $130, I might start caring about video games again, that is, if PokΓ©mon is good again. X and Y look like a return to form, being stylish but not trendy and garish. Or if some sort of games are worthwhile.

Yeah, I don't hate the idea of the 2DS (kind of a dumb name, but still) but I wish they would have had this idea earlier than just bringing it out now.Β It's pretty unfair to a lot of people who already bought the 3ds just because it's the next gen handheld console.Β I would have bought the 2DS over the 3DS.Β

I guess those people can't comprehand an idea that some people have to pay taxes, debts, fees and can not afford to buy a 3DS

I have a 3DS... and I do get rather tired of it. I almost have no interest in any of the games that come out for it so I only spend my time with the few art related downloadable programs.
So I never use the 3D and don't buy games for it. I'm pretty sure the 2DS sounds like it's what I would want more anyway. I think I'll look into getting one when my 3DS breaks. It's like a cheap replacement for me.
For the gamers and 3DS fans that hate the 2DS, yeah I can definitely see why they would dislike it. It wouldn't be for everyone, that's for sure.

No one I know has a 3DS because they're so expensive. Well, except for one... His sister traded it in for PS2 games without permission

Ooh, well that's unfortunate that she had traded it. Yeah, they are expensive and since I only use it for art, I really wasted a lot of money... but I do love the art a lot.
So personally, it was sort of worth it, though hearing about the 2DS... now that would of been a lot more worth my money since I don't play any 3D games.

I thought it was only about $50 bucks cheaper. Last I heard, 3DSs were about $169.99.
