Description
Well, I needed a break from doing this for hours! So, I took pictures while I was going (as per the usual) of appliqueing the clouds onto the Itachi robe I have on commission (that I have to have done this weekend/early next weekSo... I hope you can find this helpful, as well! It's a grand alternative to the Fakie Screen-Printing Tutorial for a way of applying color or design.
I'll probably wind up coming in and editing this description shortly; I'm just too tired right now! That was a lot more work (both the cloud things, and the tutorial) than I thought it would be!
I have one question for Naruto fans, though: why is there only one cloud on Itachi's outfit that goes backwards? The one on the back, as per this reference - [link] Why just one?! *drives me crazy*
As per the usual:

Totally awesome. Whether someone has done this before or not it's definitely helpful to have a little reminder (oh hey, don't do this), and your tutorials are always so neat and clean. This makes me want to go give it a shot myself!

I have to do that for myself all the time - the tutorials actually help me remember things that caused major problems in the past, when I go to do them again
Thank you so much - you should definitely try it; it's not too bad to do, and adds a really nice touch to just about anything!
((and sorry for the incredibly late reply! I'm just now getting caught up on everything ))

I know how life goes! Have no fear~
And I totally did try it. I love my bag with my Sailor Moon crescent on it. I'll have to try again sometime because it worked well, but needs more practice! :}

Oh wow! I never knew appliquΓ© could be this easy! Before I just top stitched the designs straight onto the fabric then sealed it with a zigzag or satin stitch.
[Then again, you can't really get that heat'n'bond stuff here in England so I guess I'm stuck with that method xD;]
Still! Thanks for this tutorial - extremely useful and well presented as always!

Aw! Thank you
Yes! I definitely is pretty easy, the heat'n'bond really does help.. if you don't have that, though, I've worked with any type of spray adhesive before, too - just a generic 3M spray glue works fine! Cut the shape, and glue it on - it keeps everything from shifting

spray adhesive makes your needle a bit sticky, if you use a strong one or get overenthusiastic, though- i had to clean the little blighter every 15 minuets last time i did that

Really? It may depend on the type you're using - I use the Sulky stuff, water based for quilting, I think, and it's never gummed up my needles, but holds decently

ahh- I used non water based, in the hope it'd stay stuck through washing. that might have been why it was giving me problems

Maybe, I'm actually not sure - I usually wash them out pretty quickly, after stitching it down, too, so that may have something to do with it... or it was heavier? I dunno Finicky machines!!

it was fairly strong glue *shrug* I think I'll stick with your suggestion

Really? Thanks for the tip! I'm working on a cosplay project which needs a ridiculous amount of appliquΓ© and quite frankly, it's driving me mad!
