So I finished playing Portal 2 a few weeks ago. It was amazing--seriously one of the best games ever. I already feel like I need to play it again. Anyways, I decided to draw Chell because she is awesome and I love her. <3 I should be working on illustrations. To be fair, I did complete 2 picture book illustrations in between the initial sketch for this and the finished product. I'm still not entirely sure about her face. It's not right, but I don't totally hate it, so I just left it alone.I also decided that I want to try and put together a Chell costume. I doubt it will be ready in time for Halloween, but my husband and I have been talking about going to Salt Lake City Comic Con for about a year now. We missed out on going this year because of moving and all that (and I decided I wanted a motorcycle), but maybe next year.

Oh man this turned out so well colored! I love how you painted her skin and all the little folds in the jacket.
And ahhh, a Chell cosplay sounds like so much fun! I know it was on my bucket list of things to do a couple years ago, but when I actually got around to starting cosplay it didn't end up making the cut because of changing interests and what not. Cosplaying is a lot of fun though, especially making everything yourself and having a long term project to work on. I'm diving in head first into a rather hard one for this coming winter and it's going to turn out horrible since I can't sew worth beans, but hey, that's half the fun XD

I am excited about the cosplay. I've always loved dressing up and making costumes--as long as it only involves minimal seeing. I hate sewing. It's way more complicated than it looks and I'm not into patterns and measuring everything perfectly and all that.

So awesome!! One of my favorite things about these games (and Portal 2 in particular) is the orange + blue + white color scheme and you nailed it!
And eeeek a Chell cosplay is on my list too! I actually bought the white Aperture tanktop but it doesn't fit me very well. I've got some socks that are supposed to look like the boots but it would be super awesome to figure out a way to actually make them from scratch

That's awesome! I haven't bought anything yet, but I have been looking around at ideas and tutorials for various things. There are some amazing ones for portal guns, but I think that's probably a little beyond my skill level. I am going to try to make a companion cube out of one of those storage cube things they sell at Walmart or wherever. And probably boots, too. I've seen some cool long fall boots people have made just from white boots that they cut out in front and painted and then attached the back piece too. We'll see. I'm sure it will end up being a year-long, piece-by-piece project, but that's okay.
