One of the best paintings I have ever seen. Your adoration for Christ is very evident with every stroke of the brush here. What fierce and powerful love you captured in the eyes.

YEah, I sooo agree...I really need to redo this painting...I painted it more as a quick study and really want to paint a more detailed and realistic piece. The response to this has been remarkable really....which tells me that many would like to see Him in all His glory and depicted this way more. I think it's also important for men to relate to the Lord's true strength of spirit...too many artists have depicted Jesus as so feminine....which He really isn't! He is love but that's been misinterpreted in art as feminine...no....the grace and love of Jesus is full of power, strength and dignity. This is why I've studied so hard, prayed and meditated so much with Jesus....He has an image to portray and correct through art and I want to be that vessel for Him

It is truly refreshing to hear a woman not try to interpret Christ as simply a proto-feminist figure, which He certainly was not. By suffering, never conceding to errors, and showing such great charity and faith as He did, He showed what true strength and courage is. Perhaps if more men would display Christ's strength, our world would have fewer problems. In conveying this, you are truly doing God's work.

I had to stop and think about what you said at first. Then I thought what a good paint you made. I think it's because I've lived a very hard life and Jesus has balanced my life to see into His real beauty in so many ways. Also His great power and strength. I think that only through great love, our focus entirely on Jesus and not what we THINK He is...then and only then can Jesus use us fully to be like Him. I think through that deep desire to allow Him to reveal Himself for who He really is lets Jesus give me that grace I need to paint Him as He wishes to be seen. All I want is what He wants, though I am truly and deeply imperfect, my heart is His.

I agree completely. In his book Jesus of Nazareth, Pope Benedict said the purpose of the Incarnation of Christ was to show us the face of God, which beforehand we had been incapable of seeing. The Incarnation was also the primary point Catholic apologists used to justify our use of icons against the iconoclasts in Islam, Protestantism, and other groups - simply by choosing to become physical, even a human being, Christ ennobled the face and form of all people to the highest possible degree. This is why religious art, especially with the magnificence you display, has always been so central to Catholicism - Creation is God's art to us; Christ is man the artist and God the Artist at one; and our own artwork is a response in this chain of loving creativity. I deeply admire your devotion, strength and faithful love. God bless.
