I like that facial expression, very deep. Good job on the eyes.

Thank you my friend. I felt it was very important to depict Him this way when many choose to forget His full power and glory. Pride is a necessary evil to stomp on at times and many souls see only one aspect of Jesus. He is also the King, the Just Judge and the Eternal Victor over all evil.

I feel most comfortable contemplating Jesus as my king, and my Lord, and my master, and I frequently refer to Him as "His Majesty" (which St. Teresa of Avila did as well) and "the Master" (which the Apostles did).
So I think this gets it across very well. I think you can get some idea of the silence of His Majesty from this, which is an interesting concept since He is the "Word", and yet... He is also mysteriously Silence. Or maybe... His Word elicits a certain Silence that brings peace and the Holy Spirit.

Such beautiful words my dear friend. So special and I understand very well what you say.
I'm working on a paint of Him now. Something I kept seeing an image of curing Mass on Sunday. His beautiful face as He lay in His Mother's arms having been taken down from the Cross. In my mind I could only hold His face in my hands, kiss His forehead and tears of the deepest love I could nod stop from falling. I had to paint that face, the face of the Pieta! I can't wait to share this painting....

Thank you.
I'm very eager to see that. That's my favorite part of the Passion of Our Lord to meditate on, and to comfort the Blessed Mother and adore and worship the "Verum Corpus".

This painting is truly an inspiration. I love artworks that contain universal truths in them and yet very personal at the same time. This one, we all know it's Jesus, even the non-believers I bet, but at the same time you portray Him with a certain uniqueness and a "personal" feeling (and style) to it. Very well done! May God continue to do great things through your art.

I love your comment! Yes, He is unmistakable and instantly recognisable and I am very grateful for that. From time to time I like to portray Our Jesus in His full power and glory so that people don't forget that He is the Just Judge as well as the merciful and loving Christ. Too many people forget this side of Him and it is pride and ego that does this. They are uncomfortable viewing this powerful side of Him but I feel it's very important that we remember ALL of who the Person Jesus is. I hope you would agree.
Yes, my religious works are deeply personal, in that way I think I can share my deeply personal relationship with Jesus with others so that they too gain a snapshot into the reality of Christ and a personal Jesus. I think that's what makes my work so popular.
I pray too that the Lord will continue to work through me and share His gift with the world. God bless you and thank you for stopping by

That's absolutely true what you said about the Judge in Jesus, and I totally agree with you! Too many neglect the Truth / Faith in the name of love. People often quote Luke 6:37 but rarely 1Cor 6:2-3.
How refreshing to see this equally powerful side of our Lord!

Thank you my friend! He's not as perfect as I wanted to get Him in this painting but male features trouble me somewhat, I'm working on getting better at it

I hate to be a buzzkill, but as a Christian i seriously doubt that Jesus was white. If you think about what most jewish people look like then that's how I envision him. Regardless that's hardly important compared to the message that he brought to the world.

That's right, the message is what matters most. How we depict Him in emotion and truth is more important to Him than how He actually looked. My aim in my work is to connect people to the person of Christ, in His full range of love, emotion and truth, and that is what I try my best to do, that is my mission in this life.
God bless you!
