Description
i've decided to do another nice bit of simple paleoart.nothing too dramatic or anything....
basically it's Just a picture depict a heram of pteranodon (one male and four females in this case) enjoying the calm before the storm.

*BASIC INFO*

Era: late Cretaceous (specially the campanian era, around 72 million years ago)
Size: Males: 5-6 ft tall (though the crest takes up almost 2 ft of that). Females: almost 3-3.5 ft tall.
Wingspan: Males: 6 meters. Females: 3 meters (half the size of the males)
Weight: roughly 50 or 70 pounds at most.
Habitat: Cliffside/offshore rookeries. but likely spent most of their time gliding over the sea.
Fossil's Locations: Kansas, Alabama, Nebraska, Wyoming, and South Dakota.Β
Discovered by: Othniel Charles Marsh in 1876

one minor speculation I did with this picture was following the idea of pteranodon's having a VERY present sexual dimorphism, with the males pretty much TWICE the size of the females.
so I kinda imagined to myself a case that maybe pteranodon society had harems (like elephant seals but slightly less violent)

According to fossil evidence, your speculation is very accurate about the lifestyle of these animals. One single boi living/ ruling a group of females

Looks like the male is about to give a speech.
Or it is a cult gathering, as said.

This is exactly what I picture Pteranodons doing in back in the Cretaceous and The Male's color looks just like a Woodpecker's color.Β
Also at First, I thought it was a Parent Pteranodon ready to feed it's chicks.Β

Hmmm I have a feeling This Male is gonna be one lucky Pterosaur since he's attracted all the ladiesΒ Β

the big crested one is the cult leader and the brown ones are his followers
