Description Species Name: Reticulated Python
Python reticulatus

Average Adult Size: 28.5 feet, the largest on record was 32 feet, making it the longest recorded snake in the world.
Diet: Medium sized mammals and waterfowl.
Habitat: Coastal Southeast Asia usually near fresh water.

Shot: Taken at the Oregon State Fair

Comments: Often albino retics have a little bit of a lavender colored tinge to their white parts, which creates an interesting dynamic. She is about 10 feet long (sub-adult). The Guinness Book record for longest snake, however, is a 24 foot retic. Although they are the longest snake in the world, they are by far not the heaviest bodied.
