After a brief tug of war between local syndicates over control of an illegal mining operation, a larger, better equipped rebel faction seized the facility. The influx of capital further strengthened the rebels. Given enough time, they could present a legitimate threat to the presiding government, who's rule was already shaky following a series of bloody clashes with rebel factions in recent years. With the military's hands tied by international scrutiny, the government turned to the private sector, and DTI quickly agreed to take on the contract to remove the rebels.

Following the wholesale massacre of the rebels in the area, DTI enjoyed the fresh addition of another source of nigh-untraceable income as gold poured from the mine and into their pockets.

Here we see a heavily armed DO/L patrolling the mineral processing station, keeping the newly-acquired mine secure.
