A lot of time was spent on timing. We watched the ropers as they practiced on the dummies and learned their "tells". For some, it was a hitch in their step, for others, they sped up or slowed down. You have mere seconds to watch them run down the fence and rope their steer. Fractions of a second to watch for the tell and to capture the pivotal moment. It's exhilarating. I can't wait to photograph more shows as the year progresses.
