Most stasis tubes have been shattered either by the former inhabitants or the forces of nature. It is believed that each artificial creature starts out as an embryo inside the tube filled with a protective yellow gelatine. Nutrients and vital components that make up their anatomy is fed through the large tube over time. Once a specimen is complete, the gelatine is evacuated from the stasis tube through a drain at the bottom. It is then believed that soldiers captured the Shadow Spawn and prepared it for biological warfare.

For a civilization that had technology far superior that ours, the former inhabitants do not own very "futuristic" buildings. They put most of their energy into offense rather than defense. So for the most part, their buildings are frail but easy to build. They are made from petrified worms that were cut up into what feels like wood (although it is actually flesh). Using the worms to make fortifications is very efficient to counter the acid rains because the worms are coated with a base that neutralizes the acid. This advantage has led to a massive deforestation that caused several worm trees to go extinct and changed much of the landscape completely. However, the floor are made of concrete to increase stability and prevent undermining.

One more feature that is noted here is that some important government owned buildings, like this laboratory, seem to use optical illusions. The walls look like they are made of tube shaped "bamboo-like" structures when they are actually flat. Painted patterns also changes the depth perception of the room. If any unauthorized individuals should enter the building, they would struggle to find their way around correctly.

The predator gazing at the Shadow Spawn is a monopedal that is seeking shelter from an incoming storm. More details on it will be released in the near future.
