Description
At first sight, the Mystican Forgania Xternia or Infinity Forge, looks completely like a terraformed planet with some industrial elements since it has completely real-looking mountains, soil, wildlife, plants and rivers. However underneath it reveals its secret. Under the surface there lay the several mechanical plants, storage bays, Quantum Processing Sectors churning out weapons, vehicles and ships and more and finally the 'core' of the Forge which is the artificial star that is contained in a stasis field. This star powers every aspect of the Forge; from its Processing Projectors to computer interfaces to its energy shielding. This star also provides earth-like gravity for the Forge's surface. Securing the Forge are Guardian Drones that continously patrols the surface and the skies hunting out for intruders. If needed, the Forge can send out ships and other material by either opening up its surface crust, revealing launch bays and shipyards, or teleporting them directly to outer space with Quantum Networking Teleportation Technology.
To complement its defences, the Mysticans also constructed an artificial moon that serves as a reserve shipyard and defence bastion against alien intruders. The X1 Moon Station is wirelessly connected to the Forge itself and is directly under its control. The Moon is made from the same material of the Forge and is almost impossible to destroy.
Author's note: I initially wanted the Forge to be some rectangular facility but for navigation purposes i decided that a planet form would be better as it is easier to explore around.

The concept is cool, but I have to say the illustration makes me think first and foremost about the Death Star...

I understand. My father also said that.
It was an atempt to make the Forge more 'industrialized and not just a planet on the surface'.

One thought would be, in the place of what would appear to be a massive death ray, have a wide variety of cooling vents. I mean, with such industrial capacities, it would be sensible that the architecture of the planet's surface should support facilities to allow for enhanced cooling...

Hmm...you are right. After all, it would be uncomfortable down there with all that build-up of thermal energy. Yes there are cooling vents and they are scattered all over the surface, concealed among the woods, mountains and such. Anyway, the Forge is not a conventional factory like what humans use now. It uses a different method which is explained here: [link]
The Forge was supposed to look completely like a terraformed planet but since their alien creators never finished it, a part of it (where the death-star dish thingy is) is instead finished up by the Controllers as an industrial city since they didnt have the terraforming devices that were used early in its construction.
Its defenses doesnt include a superweapon though it can construct superweapons if deemed needed. Instead, it can spawn unmanned drones and spacecraft into outer space to intercept enemy armadas. Also, the energy barrier shielding the Forge and the X1 Moon can become offensive weapons by firing bolts or pulses from it.
