Description At last, the revelation of 7 Legendary Dragons of Benevolence! (But it's still WIP) I'm glad that I make flying dragons (except for 2 of them), but I tried looking for spectacular flying poses...I think I did it well for my dragon characters. ^^

but turns out that green one's staff has bad perspective.

These will be for the character sheets (with magic...you see their empty hands? )

red - Targon Ghanzir the fire dragon
green - Agamid Drakarum the wind dragon druid
bronze - Ethranox Mnotragk the earth dragon
gold - Zarthrador Zymenerth the lightning dragon
black - Iraskor Razor the dark dragon
white - Isaac Orthrax the ice dragon
blue - Wraginor Torokarr the water dragon

Next will the 7 Legendary Dragons of Malevolence ^^

Pretty neat looking dragons. Not exactly my favorite design, but neat looking.

Are these fan art of something or unique design(s)?

At first I was going to say HoMM 5 until I took a look at the names, and then that sort of tossed out that theory.

Thank you so much, Arki. . Awwww...Isaac can be first seen, but younger version, here--->[link]

I hope they will, but I still use the "scaly style" when they are in the character sheets. This takes long time.

I believe Agamid will be the best of 7 dragons (because he's a wise druid with 2 elements) and Targon will be jealous about him

If I could illustrate my own OCs as marvelously and heartfelt as you do, my life would be so more tolerable and fulfilling. I admire your heart and clear love of the work you do in all their flavors, including the seven amazing varieties here.

Now as for *ReptileCynrik 's comments, he is a superb dragon artist as we already know, and his advice and criticisms are always worth paying close attention to, but I strongly disagree with his assessment of "destroyed potential". He probably meant no offense, but it was a bit too harsh, especially for something that was more or less an art-dump like so many artists here tend to do when they feel like only drawing a montage of characters and nothing else. Shame on RC for criticising a lack of backgrounds and action. Seriously? Hasn't he seen your other amazing pieces with detailed backgrounds and magic? I know he was trying to help you, but please don't let it get you down.

Before he died, Apple Computer co-founder Steve Jobs urged college students to not go through life living someone else's dream or vision. Make the art YOU want to make. I for one consider it a privilege to be watching someone as brilliantly talented and focused as you. Keep up the excellent work, sir.

By the way, I'm an art teacher and teach young pupils at school. So, I now quite a great deal about education and the meaning of "art" in somebody's life!
Also, I didn't take your words personal or as offence. You just stated your own opinion and that's your right.
But be careful, 'cause you might never know the whole picture!

Hello there,

there's some info you DO NOT have: Kevin has shown me all these dragons in a personal mail! Then he asked me, which dragon I'd like the most and which are not so well done.
In fact, I was afraid that he might take 7 dragons and put them on a white canvas... which HAS HAPPENED HERE, eventually!!!!
That's why I was a little bit "sad", ya know?
We talked about this in private already, so you see... the lack of information can lead to wrong conclusions, as well.

But be careful when you're placing blame or shame... especially on me! Because you do NOT know the whole situation, ok?
Thank you!

TargonRedDragon In reply to Hylanvahr [2011-10-10 07:13:22 +0000 UTC]

I totally agree with you, but I don't make something to answer him back impolitely. He does his best to make critics, advises and corrections on most of my drawings or WIP's. Respectfully, I should thank him for his help, as I have improved my drawing skills for months.
What I meant about this submission is that I have to humbly show my dragon characters, not the artwork itself--since the background is not present but a white space. I could have uploaded it as png file, if something else is needed.

Thank you for your goodness, sir. . Yes, Steve Jobs was the best. ^^

You're welcome, and I apologize for my misunderstanding.

I envy your good fortune in having so talented a mentor to help you out. I was never so lucky back when I was trying to pursue art. It became very frustrating for me having little or no guidance or inspiration, and I tragically gave it up. What you have in RC is something wonderful, and I hope his advice will continue to help you with improving your art well into the future.

TargonRedDragon In reply to Hylanvahr [2011-10-11 02:29:02 +0000 UTC]

Well, It's alright.
I understand your misfortune...
Yes, RC is a good art teacher since he teaches his pupils in his school. When he draws in about 15 years, he knows about anatomy, the quality, the perspective, relationships between a character and a background, the color-choosing, and story/theme/composition--as of now. In that case, I should pursue my art with my mentor (RC) and other artists until the future works will become better than before.
Thank you. ^^

Oh, and by the way:

If you wanna use them for character sheets... try something new this time!
HOW about... doing something like "Magic the Gathering" cards???
You have a huge card, which is made of
+) the image of the dragon in his natural environment or setting
+) below the artwork: the information about him

Wouldn't that be a good idea?
I think, you can try something new this time... not your usual character sheets!!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

TargonRedDragon In reply to ReptileCynrik [2011-10-10 07:00:42 +0000 UTC]

That's what I have planned to do. The background setting for each dragon character in character sheets.
So the "Magic the Gathering" cards...that's a good idea, indeed. Thanks for a tip (or something like that ^^")

ReptileCynrik [2011-10-09 08:07:14 +0000 UTC]

Looks like a collectio of "stickers" to me... to pin at your car or at your freezer! ^^"

It would've been nice to see one or two characters in "action"... I mean, in a serious setting, with background and such.
I told you, I liked the green one most but... as it turns out, you didn't use him in a grand environment, but simply thrown him on a "white sheet" - togehter with all the others.
Pity.
Some dragons don't look bad, at all... but you've destroyed a lot of potential here, by just arranging them on a white sheet!

And you are wrong: they are NOT flying here! There is no indication of "sky" or "landscape", so... it is just a flat collection of dragon stickers!!
Sorry to be so blunt, but when you showed me the dragons, I was sure you wanted to use them in a more convincing setting.
I hope, at least ONE dragon will make it into a natural setting...

But if you want this to be just a collection of "stickers" - fine. It's your decision, after all.
