DISCLAIMER: I was strongly advised against doing anything other than standing and posing with the bow. Especially not trying to do a mid-jump pose with it. But, when I have an idea in my head I generally am deaf to all advice, but that's because I am an idiot and parttime applicant for the Darwin Awards. DO NOT TRY THAT AT HOME.
I'm not going to lie to you, I was gutted when I had to take those ears off. But, I only did so several hours after the shoot.
I was so excited to do it aswell, the costume isn't the best, cause the majority of it I made myself. I was annoyed that the collar didn't stay upright, but I did buy only very cheap material. It didn't help that I only got a new sewing machine until the night before this shoot. The old one finally packed in and gave up the fight (I googled the serial number aswell. Half of that tunic was made using a 76year old Singer.)
The boots and the vambraces were made completely by hand.

you cant really see the way i was holding it. but there was no way i was letting go of that arrow, it also wasnt notched. so the only way it would have gotten away from me was if i dropped it.Β
also, i've been jumping off those dunes since i was a little kid, so i was pretty sure of my landings too, and didn't trip. all the same, i was very aware that it could go wrong, so i was very careful. (also, the arrows were blunt. all the weapons in my shoots were borrowed off my friend who does reenactment)

Yes, you did a jump with a bow, and it could've been a little dangerous. But you had the safety on, so it was okay.

This is a lovely and dynamic image. It needs to be painted or drawn or something, it is just too good.
Your idea for the mid-jump pose is very good indeed.

Yea but you have a lot of poses like that, I'm a photographer and those poses are not easy.. Especially the timing for the facial expressions.
Keep it up You have some great stuff! I had a hard time choosing because you had so much I wanted...

yeeeah, i love action poses though. i love photos with movement in them, even though they're a bugger to do and i have to have someone with me. the rest of the time it's just me on my own with my self timer. >.< thanks ^^
