any synthetic shampoo will work

That did not work well with my canada wig, it's sadly not slick and shiny anymore but it cleaned it..

TastyPeachStudios In reply to ImpossibleWho [2014-09-07 23:57:12 +0000 UTC]

It honestly depends on what the fibers are. the purple plum wigs and my TPS brand wigs all use synthetic shampoo ( because they are Japanese emulation hair fibers) if you're curious on the fibers, I would email the vendor you purchased it from to be 100% sure it's a synthetic and not a half real half synthetic.

I'm so happy you put this up~!!! I have an ayumi style wig and was freaking out because after a crazy weekend of anime convention, it was frizzing slightly, tangling and i was afraid it was ruined. As soon as I can, I'm going to get out and buy the liquid fabric softner and wig shampoo and get this done O:

and then use your other tutorial to recurl my baby~~~

Where can someone get wig shampoo?

Why does hair shampoo wont work?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

TastyPeachStudios In reply to Lawrielle21 [2013-01-15 16:01:53 +0000 UTC]

Because it is made for real hair and not synthetic fibers. It will just cause buildup and make the wig look all greasy. Trust me on this :3

Hey I ordered a long 29 inch wig from animestuffstore.com and I was wondering if the wig cap is adjustable? Would you know?

Not sure on the cap, I know it has the sizers in the back with the little hooks though :3

Not sure, I only use the pure silicon and have yet to use anything else.

I don't really remember where I ordered mine as it was a long time ago, but if you do a search you'll find a few places :3

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

TastyPeachStudios In reply to zeldacatvampire [2012-05-06 23:38:28 +0000 UTC]

Not sure as each place has their own wig fibers. you would have to ask them <3 I deal specifically with Purple Plum as I do their wig modeling

FairyKeiStar [2012-04-20 22:19:02 +0000 UTC]

Hello, I hope you respond ^^ but you see I only buy GLW and I was wondering about the quality of the wig fibers...if you have a video up or anything that would be helpful...because they are a lot cheaper than GLW. Thank you.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

TastyPeachStudios In reply to FairyKeiStar [2012-04-21 01:23:10 +0000 UTC]

I use to only wear GLW, but then I was given this and a few others for modeling and review. I then immediately sold all of my GLW wigs cause these Purple Plum wigs are far better in feel, quality, and texture. I can curl these SO much easier!

Ok thank you. I'll order from them soon.

I bought a Hatune Miku wig off of hellocosplay.com and really need to wash it so my friend can help me style it, but I do not believe it can handle fabric softner do you think it would still clean it if i soaked it for a while then used wig shampoo? Also what kind of wig shampoo do you use?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

TastyPeachStudios In reply to ShiyoriPhantomhive [2012-04-09 04:40:25 +0000 UTC]

the name of the shampoo I use is no longer readable on the bottle, but just do a search for wig shampoo, they are pretty much all the same :3 It should do the trick, soak it in cool water and the shampoo, then rinse and re-wash with a bit more to really give it a good finish. Be sure you rinse it out all the way!

ShiyoriPhantomhive In reply to TastyPeachStudios [2012-04-09 20:20:06 +0000 UTC]

Will this method work for other brands of heat resistant wigs? I'm going to be ordering a heat resistant Hatsune Miku wig off of Ebay soon and I'm looking into things like this so I know how to take care of it. Will this work for that?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

TastyPeachStudios In reply to Rai619 [2012-02-27 02:23:24 +0000 UTC]

I can not say 100% it will. Some wigs can not take the fabric softener like Purple Plum wigs can. But you can wash it normally without it no worries!

Does this tutorial work for the wigs from gothiclolitawigs.com / cosplaywigsusa.com??
I'm pretty new to this whole wig thing! XD I -think- they're similar...

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

TastyPeachStudios In reply to littlepaperforest [2012-02-26 20:25:02 +0000 UTC]

It would work, but the fibers are different. GLW wigs are much coarser so you'll get them tangled/frizzy faster. I actually use to use GLW and sold all of them after I started with PP wigs :3

Aariesa-Adopts In reply to TastyPeachStudios [2012-02-26 16:56:45 +0000 UTC]

That would be helpful.
I have pigtails for my Miku cosplay and that got extremely tangled.
I went look for tutorial and asked people what to do.
Now it's just hanging in shame. ;w;
