Description
A semi original weapon I made for my imperial world. The Radium Pistol is a small pistol that uses scaled-down radium technology, often favoured as a side-arm by Skitarii Tech-Guards and Tech-priests forced to go into battle directly. This particular pattern was reverse engineered by adept Grigori Yefim Flyorov from a single proper Radium Pistol, taken from the hands of the highest ranking Tech-priestess on Kray Mira after her untimely death. Though, due to the inherent dangers of handling such fearsome and foul weapons, Flyorov Radium Pistols were only occasionally used by its creator and his personal cybernetically-enhanced bodyguards.
Radium Weapons are deadly and highly dangerous personal weapons that are used exclusively by the forces of the Skitarii Legions of the Adeptus Mechanicus. Many weapons wielded by the Skitarii are so deadly to the wielder they're widely condemned by the rest of the Imperium. This weapons don't only to strike down the enemy, but also render the battlefield as deadly as the rad-wastes of Mars. As dangerous as they are to their wielders, Radium Weapons are far more deadly to the enemy. Armour may repel the solid rounds, but only the most heavily-reinforced battle-plate can protect the target from the baleful energy given off by the hyper-irradiated bullets. As more and more shots are fired, the area becomes increasingly saturated with radiation until a localised rad-storm occurs, striking down the enemy with radiation sickness and leaving the ground beneath their feet saturated and lifeless.
Even though duplicating such closely guarded technology (and modifying it) without permission from the Priesthood of Mars constitutes some serious tech-heresy, Kray Mira (and by extension Flyorov) was forgiven by the Adeptus Mechanicus due to their loyalty and numerous contributions to the Indomitus Crusade. Still, heavy restrictions were implemented to prevent this technology from falling into the wrong hands.
As with my previous post, it's kinda inspired on the Soviet Union and modern day Russia, though this one in particular is based on the norwegian Landstad 1900 Automatic Revolver. Hope you like it!
