Description
After that comic about a young Hector, Ernesto and Imelda I decided I wanted to make a picture of Hector and Miguel to see the similarities between them 
I’ve just been on a Coco artwork binge lately, don’t worry, I’m not abandoning Undertale, I just really wanted to draw a lot of Coco fanart lately XD

From time to time while watching the movie, I'd think that the look of Miguel reminded me of some other character, but I couldn't place it. I figured it out looking at this drawing. Mowgli from Disney's 1960s era Jungle Book. It was the long hair you gave young Hector that knocked it into place for me.

They practically look like brothers. XD And to be honest, I imagine that Miguel would resemble Hector a lot as a grown up, too!

Hector is Miguel's Great-great grandpa, Imelda just calls Miguel her grandson since declaring him her great-great-grandson would have sounded clunky while she's trying to intimidate a murderer X3

I think he and Ernesto grew up together, and they were orphaned at young ages, which is why Hector didn't have any other family and he took Imelda's last name (just my personal headcanon)

I think the only mention was Miguel asking Ernesto if it was hard leaving his family, so maybe Ernesto had a family, who knows XD
