The best way of making an autograph.The other way of making an autograph.
When I was a kid, I did that quite often and I always ended up with marker spots and lines all over my hands.
Today is Children's Day! Yup, you've guessed - this piece is dedicated to 'em.
Now, if you're so smart, try and guess why she's holding that marker in such a weird way.
(and no, people, there isn't anything wrong with her hands...)

I'm very interested in this mystery as to why the child would be holding the marker this way...I have no idea. Was she just not taught the right way to hold a pen? Or maybe they're just more comfortable holding a marker this way. Maybe it makes it easier to see your other hand? I dunno! I'm stumped. Lol! XP

That's cute, I used to do that when I was a kid too except it was with just a crayola crayon so I didn't have any marks on my hands after. I used to make one hand on the front white cover of my colouring books and one in the back. and then sometimes i'd draw myself some rings, bracelets and finger nails. lol

That's how I hold a pen/pencil when I try to write with my right hand, so I figured that, haha.

Sure I don't mind, but I don't know how to answer that question...
If you mean the pores, they're just a procedural bump map (I tell the computer: generate *map with special attributes to make it look like pores* on the whole model). As for the finger joint wrinkles - they're drawn by hand on another bump map AND in the diffuse maps (those which add color).

Haha! No, only the non-procedural textures (hands and traced hands on the paper) were done in Photoshop - the rest (the wood, pores on hands and tiny little bumps to make the paper noisy) are 3ds max procedurals.

I recommend learning Maya.
3ds max is really big and has fewer possibilities than Maya.
