I am Reptile, and I do not answer to you. Fight!My idea of how a re-designed Reptile from Mortal Kombat (my fave char) should look in the upcoming Mortal Kombat X. Nerded out a bit and threw this doodle together.
Personally, always hated the anthro lizard look, Reptile works best as seemingly humanoid/chameleon/shapeshifter. Here I went for a futuristic ninja look - leaner, meaner, more CYBER, but still with obvious reptilian patterns. That's how a sci-fi ninja would look: stealthy, lethal, a bit more than human. Also thought about new weapons - a cybernetic tail-whip to slash and stab the opponent,Β retractable claw-gloves to keep in the whole actual ninja theme.Β And I'm pretty sure there's some fancy hi-tech cloaking system hidden in the suit.

He made it into the Mortal Kombat series. This is DEFINITELY a no-brainer. If he doesn't make it into MK 10, then that's okay, because he can be in the next MK game.

1. Ermac (with King Jerrod's mind. Learned of His queen and his daughter's fates in MK9. He has a fatalistic goal at the end of his journey.)
2. Shinnok (the mastermind behind MK9 event. HE HAS TO SHOW UP!)
3. Liu Kang (but as a VERY DIFFERENT man. He is now traumatized, embittered, teetering the edge of the darkness and friendless: he no longer reveres the lightning god. So why would he want to participate? Where's Kitana's soul fell to at the climax of MK9? Hey, they say love knows no boundaries...) - Liu Kang is NOT dead! He was just... Very badly hurt...
4. Kung Lao (the only soul who would manage to regain his own sentience some time after his soul was collected by Quan Chi along with other fallen Earthrealm warriors during MK9. Seeks to escape Netherrealm but he cannot do it alone. He needs Help. We then have Sareena, a demoness of Netherrealm who also seeks to escape Quan Chi's clutch. But her own body cannot withstand outside Netherrealm for long. She needs a host body...)
5. Rain or Tanya (seeks to be the new ruler of Edenia now that Edenia is void of its ruler.)
6. Kai (Liu Kang and Kung Lao's blood brother raised in Shaolin Temple. After learned of Kung Lao's fate in MK9, seeks to wrench his soul from Quan Chi's clutch in Netherrealm.)
7. Reiko or Skarlet (Shao Kahn loyalist who seeks to resurrect him.)
8. Havik (just wants to upset the balance...)
9. Nitara (a vampire queen who seeks to have her kind be freed from Outworld empire. Remember; MK9 went back to the past, resetting and nullifying most if not all previous events.)
10. Cyrax or Sektor - what's MK without a cyber-ninja?
DLC character I want to see
1. Predator
2. Kenshiro (from Fist of the North Star fame)
New characters I have in mind
1. A young Centaurian on a passge to adulthood
2. A Tarkatan offspring of... (Guess.)

forget Motaro; he died in MK9. I was looking forward to see a great rivalry between Centaurians and Shokans...

Well, the Mortal Kombat franchise has been known to bring back characters from time to time. Take, for example, Liu Kang. He died in Deadly Alliance and was a zombie or a spirit, but was later brought back to his mortal form in MK9. That alone means Motaro may still have another chance.

I get what you are saying. But MK9 is a story where Armageddon left off. And also the story did a time travel, when Liu Kang was still a human.

I learned an interesting fact from Ed Boon's comment in MKA:
Reptile's society is a matriarchy. It is run by a saurian queen. Finding her, and if she had died, her resurrection would play an extremely important role to Saurian race's restoration.

also, I was told that it is because the absence of this matriarch and her influence increasingly waning any surviving Saurians (if any), including Reptile, starts to look more and more like reptilian.

that is why Reptile's appearance started to look increasingly regressive. Remember how much he was humanoid-looking in MK2 and UMK3?

Reptile devolves more into a reptilian creature the longer he is separated from other members of his race. It would make sense that he would look more reptilian in MKX.
The design looks badass and everything, but I don't see "Reptile", I just see a guy in a tech suit. And when I look at the suit, I can't help but think of "Metal Gear Solid IV", and "Metal Gear Revengeance" instead if Mortal Kombat.
