Description
DEATH IS WHOEVER DOES DEATH'S JOB.-Mort, from Terry Pratchett's "Mort"
Been a while since I finished something fully rendered. Relatively happy with this, and frankly I was having a lot of fun; been wanting to do a picture of Mort for ages.
(This really ought to be on a Tarrot card.)

Afraid not. Disney was going to make an animated adaptation, but Sir Terry pulled out when they asked him to, and this is true, "ease up on the death angle."

Simply awesome, got the feeling just right.
The fatherly hand on the shoulder, the hint of the grin.
Love it!

I think this really brings forth the feeling of the book. Mort looks to be pretty ambitious, while aware of the risk of being so with Death as his boss.

Ooh, lovely! I really like this version of Death and Mort. It looks very nice, very dark, but at the same time not depressing at all. And Mort's eyes...<3
I love the detail you went into all over, but especially in the sword handle.

I think if this came up durring a tarrot card reading, it would mean either "You're screwed." or "You only think you're screwed."

Late comment is late, but this is so awesome, it merited an acknowledgement XD I love Mort and the way you've drawn him with Death here is awesome- super intimidating but at the same time... it's a master-apprentice relationship that's not inimical. And Mort's eyes are awesomely unnerving.

wow, this is amazing. The coloring is breathtaking, and I love the way Mort's eyes stand stand out against the rest of it. The hilt of the sword is brilliantly detailed and I honestly can't find a single thing that could be improved in any way. +fav

I absolutely love the way you've done death in this one. His hands especially, stick out to me as superb. The way he's looming over Mort like that is fantastic. Completely brilliant work, in every aspect, and very well deserving of the faves it's collected, and more.

That's really good! but aren't death's eyes supposed to be the ones that glow blue?

Ha, true! But in the book "Mort", Mort becomes Death's apprentice and, well, as the quote in the description... "Death is whoever does Death's job."

Hmm... it would almost work as a Death tarot card. A bit hard to see "rebirth" or "change" in it... but certainly Mort does show the change through death into something new, a new dawn.
The only possible way I think this could be better (and not saying it would be) would be for Death's blue galaxy/star twinkle eyes to be visible. It's probably hard to get them into the picture though. I really can't visual-art at all.

Wow, this is great. I love how you showed the blue-eyed Mort instead of the brown-eyed, yet there's innocence in his expression as well.

If I didn't know the story, this would be exceedingly creepy.
