Description
---Click on it or hit Downoad to view please.Well, it's finished...And I'm very sleepy. ^^
I hope you enjoy it, it is, after all, my first tutorial....And I must go to bed now...work is going to kick my butt today now...with like...3 hours of sleep. XD
---I tried to explain everything easily, but if I failed to mention something or there is something you don't understand, please feel free to ask.
---I made this tutorial specifically for Oekaki Painter Shi, the techniques may work in another program, but I cannot guarantee that. Sorry.
(The character is an original chracter of mine...please don't steal him, or he will eat you in your sleep. ^^ You can draw him, if you'd like, but please make sure you do not claim him as your own...I usually wouldn't put this here, but an art thief recently made me a bit grumpy. ehehe....)

Thanks so much for this tutorial~! It was my first time today, to try oekaki. I was totally lost with trying to adjust to it since I don't color digitally much. Sounds lame, I know. But I'm very grateful in finding your tutorial. It was clear and easy to understand.

did you draw the original sketch on the site or can you scan one in and then draw over it? x

An oekaki is, from what I understand, a website with different programs that you can use to draw digitally, and what I meanby "programs" is that it's right on the website, you don't have to download anything! I hope that helped! ^_^

Agh, this is PERFECT. For your first tutorial, it's very well-done. It's both fun and easy to read and get through. I like that you've also noted what NOT to do at certain points. I love to see the technique you've used and maybe now I can hopefully try it out, though I know it won't look nearly as good. n_n;
Airbrush tool is definitely better for lineart, I've noticed, though I'm too lazy to try it again (I've only done it once and it was my nicest oekaki). xD;
The thing I liked most about this tutorial is that it concentrates on the colouring part, which I'm sure for most people (including me) is the HARDEST part of oekaki. It's a very frustrating process, but the way you've shown it makes it look a lot easier. So thank you for making this!

Thank you thank you thank you! I'm really glad to hear that, as it was what I was aiming for when I made this...Please at least give it a shot, or try a few techniques to just play around with, maybe you'll find something that works even better than how I do it! (if so, then you must share in return! lol!! XD )
Yes, I think lineart is probably the most rewarding part of oekaki...when we sit back and look at it we really feel proud! ....then we color it....and feel inferior.

You're welcome you're welcome you're welcome! :3 <3
It's really helpful, and pretty-looking too. xD
I don't know if I'll find anything that works better; this seems like a pretty solid, easy process. But different stuff works for different people, so who knows? ^^
Maybe I'll just do lineart in oekaki from now on. Colouring is just... [cries] XD

lol, but if it was too easy, then we'd be bored! ^^ Right now I'm having trouble....my applet's undo button thinks everything I've done in a span of 5 minutes is just one 'undo'....so if I hit it, I love like...almost everything. T___T

Ah, well I suppose that's true. I have a lot of trouble with oekaki, too...it always freezes, or when I try to put a line down, it messes up...blar. Only on my mac, always on my mac.... [punches glitchy applet thingy]
