Io (like the moon aye-oh) is my Alien-universe OC. She's a teenage drama queen. Ha, see what I did there?

Actually her story is a little bit involved, but it has to do with the Alien: Resurrection experiments. It's like, some people years later found the old lab and got all interested and started to renew the research with better technology. More or less there was an accident, and the lab director's young daughter got facehugged. They would have done immediate surgery, but this time the little larva thing was a young queen, and even though daddy was like "It doesn't matter, get it out!" the "company" was like, "Nah, we gave you millions in funding to get a queen, sorry dude, shouldn't have brought your daughter to work."

So she dies in his arms and they keep the queen. But, thanks to the new tech, the queen isn't as blarg-killer-animal yet (or else she'd be boring lol), and they study her. Her intelligence, body shape, and maturation rate are more human than previous subjects, so she actually has an intermediate stage between young and reproductive adult, which is where the bulk of the story takes place. Basically, the daughter was like 15 or something, and when the queen, Io, reaches the equivalent of a 15-year-old maturity-wise, her growth halts for a while, and they realize that the most recent memories of the daughter were imprinted on the alien fetus, so this whole time Io has been growing up thinking she was some twisted version of the daughter, which explains why she wasn't violent towards the dad scientist, unlike everyone else she would try to kill. So, then he's all sad, and secretly attempts to come up with a serum that would block maturation, so Io never became reproductive and therefore a threat/experimental subject. But, time is running out, for once she and he form some semblance of communication, the more she remembers about the daughter's life, the more accelerated her maturation becomes. So, she wants to remember, but it's bad to remember, so she has to try not to remember, which makes her remember more, and dad is trying to help, but also wants to find out how much of his daughter imprinted, and it's a mess.

In the end, dad kinda goes a little nuts, a explosion releases Io who is on the brink of being able to lay eggs, fire burns the lab down, and he has to shoot Io in the face to kill her and save the world. Dun dun dun.
