Description The Mp3 Music Player is an XML back loaded flash interface that you can use to play your mp3 files on flash enabled web sites.

It has the ability to adjust volume, balance, loop, shuffle and has a countdown timer.

To edit your play list open up the songInfo.xml file in notepad or any other text editor and change the name, artist, & name of the mp3 file.

I included the Adobe PSD file (version #7) so you can edit the body of the interface and the scroller button. To update them in flash open up the library then click on the folder “interface graphics”, then double click on the graphic you want to update then import your new body graphic and scoller button to replace the current one.

Make sure you keep all the files in the same folder when you upload it to the web.

That’s all there is to it.

I also included some cool layer styles to play with so get creative and let me know what you think

You can view the flash here: Mp3 Flash Player

Lost the fla file years ago for this one, shame because it was very easy to add streaming music I coded this a long time ago in Flash MX2004 and since then other similar ones have been made by others which are pretty good. In the comment below yours I link to quite a few good ones

Updating, I've lost the original file and looks like DA lost it too The fla was made with Flash MX and is pretty dated though. I've found much better players with similar xml features using the newer Flash 8.

Checkout this one [link] which is very similar as far as coding goes, only problem is it doesn't have a volume control but it shouldn't be too hard to add using the built in components in Flash 8. If you're not sure how to do it you can check the code here [link]

Here is another streaming xml player [link]

And another [link]

This one does video

Hope this helps

I suggest to check out this one , too. It's called ITheora and it's a very simple way to put multimedia content on your own website, either hosted by you or not. It uses the free .ogg file format (Vorbis for audio, Theora for video) instead of the proprietary flash and it's written in php. It also features a Java and even a Flash backend to avoid compatibility problems. It's easily costomizable (via css) and I'm currently drawing some skins for it (will soon be out in my gallery).

Hope this helps, too.

Looks interesting but the playback was horrible which might just be the server it was hosted on. Kind of disappointed it didn’t cache the movie on reload either and started buffering from the beginning. Thanks for sharing though

Yes their server is rather slow. Maybe you didn't have the theora codec installed (typical on windows) so it used the java player, which is in turn a bit slow. But mainly it's the server, the same format and java applet (cortado) are used for videos on Wikimedia Commons and usually work better.

As for cache, I think it should depend on the browser or the plugin. I use firefox with totem plugin on linux and it seems to cache the video properly.
