The first set of (re)designs for DuckTales/Darkwing Duck is here~!!I have to say that I'm not a big fan of the Muddlefoots, with perhaps the exception of Honker (I share Drake's hate ; v
, but I already had the designs of Honker and Tank, so why not do the whole family instead of just the two brothers, right?Even tho I'm not a fan of theese characters, I had fun doing their re-designs.
I already decided that Tank and Honker were geese, pink-footed geese to be precise; so of course their parents would be that kind of geese too.
And as I said in the other drawings were Honker and Tank appear: This kind of bird change their feathers as they grow. That's why the differences between the kids and their parents.
I'm really happy how their designs turn out... although, I think I could have made a better job with Tank... It's the only thing that bother me, really.
Anyway, next time I'll draw him better, it's a matter of practice~

I really like your interpretations of the Muddlefoots as pink-footed geese! It really fits them well. Also, yeah, I'm like you and Drake and find most of the Muddlefoots to be kinda annoying (I don't want any of your Quackerware! Stop trying to sell it to me!), save for Honker of course. His friendship with Gosalyn is just really sweet. I think you nailed the mildmannered housewife look for Binkie, and Herbert's design perfectly fits the bumbling dad/husband type. Great work!

Yeh, I can't stand any of them except for Honker, I wasn't looking forward to any episodes that had them... which are pretty much almost all xD They have their moments I guess... but man, I can't.. I just can't xD
The only exceptions are Honker and Nega-Tank
But oh well, I already had two of the family members, so why not just made the whole family and get it over xD

Agreed, they just don't really serve any major purpose other than to annoy Drake or be obnoxious. At least by drawing them, you got to show how their feathers will change as they grow older.
Here's a weird thought: what if J. Gander Hooter was Honker's grandfather (perhaps Binkie's father)? They do look kinda similar. Just a weird idea I had.

I can actually see that too, heheh they're the only geese in the show too... but sadly the show don't really gives much details about the characters, just a couple of them have a more deep personality, like some villains.
But yeah, it is be a cool idea

Yeah. We can always hope that if they appear in the reboot, they update their personalities much like they did with Mrs. Beakley, making them a lot more interesting and likable.
Thanks. Also hey, speaking of Beakley, we could take the idea even further. If Binkie was Hooter's daughter, she could be a former secret agent like Beakley (and possibly secretly keeping an eye on Drake, since they would probably already know his secret identity, though they'd let him think it's still a secret). It would be awesome if they did that, but you're right, they'd probably not give much thought to the Muddlefoots, if they appear at all.

Well... I think they would leave mostly the same just to annoy people xDD I mean, I guess they kinda were made for that porpouse... but if they appeat in the reboot (but again, I doubt it, 'cus a lot of characters already) they may not change a lot, but I feel like they would give them more personality like other characters.
That would make Binkie soooo much more interesting actually hehehe

True. Unless they have a story role, they'll probably just appear unchanged, if at all.
Yeah, I would love it if they shook things up like that too. With FOWL being the main villains, some spy intrigue would be pretty awesome!

Well, SHUSH is an actually thing in the reboot (as well as Fowl now) and probably more wil be said about them in this season, so it would be cool if the at least inted something interesting, a easter-egg or something.
I'm really looking forward to the 3rd episode for that reason.

Yeah, we don't know much about SHUSH in the present day, so I'm looking forward to finding out more about what's happened to them since their appearance in flashbacks.

In that episode, besides Steelbeak, I think two other characters (maybe from Shush) are going to appear. I don't know if you saw the picture, but it's like a poster for the episode or something. One of the characters is like a goose or something, and the other one is woman, but I don't know what kind of bird she is... but it's some kind of red bird

Neat! That goose is giving me major Odd Job vibes (I think, I'm not that knowledgable about Bond villains), and the red bird lady definitely fits as a Bond girl type (I can see her as a parrot). I wonder if this'll be a nod to the old Ducktales episode where Launchpad had to fill in for a secret agent that he happened to resemble.

And I have no clue who those character could be... they could be redesigns of some agents of Shush or even Fowl, or well, totally new characters, lol.

Can anybody (canonocally) tell me why Tank is not "Herbert Muddlefoot Jr.", but Honker is? Was Tank adopted? From a previous marriage?

Lolol, I actually have no idea why they chose to go for the 'Jr.' with their second child. I guess with Honker was 'why not?', but I can't really say anything about that, after all is something that is not explain or relevant, so... idk.
Tank does have a second name, but they never said it, it's jus 'H'. I wouldn't be surprise if it were 'Herbert' too.
And I doubt he's adopted, he's too... Muddlefoot to be adopted xDD
