Topic: In the center of the earth...Time: 30 min. of 60 min.
Speed paint topic from
So "In the center of the earth," Phoenix rises. (not really, but personally the most appropriate creature in the middle of lava).
It was fun rendering lava and the Phoenix, my second favorite mythical animals next to Dragons
EDIT: Painting video uploaded to Youtube:[link]

Wonderful speedpaint. It's quite messy, but, hey...it's a speedpaint, so I can't do anything about it!
I like the sharp contrast of the oranges and the reds with the dark brown areas and blacks in the background.
Keep it up. And I expect more from you.

Sorry for the late reply!
Indeed.. It's probably better if I use these speed paints and create a full painting out of it...

Yeah not only are they gorgeous, it's a cool symbol of reincarnation. I love people's idea back when they created these mythical creatures

Yes, someday we will have more time...
Well, if I ever get one published, I'd like you to illustrate it. You're good at them...(Nothing wrong with that...I should warn you, most of what I write is fantasy...)

Excellent, that will work out well then....
Well, about the only things I write are fantasy, angst, and crackish bits of humor...although, if I don't get out of this mood in time for NaNoWriMo, I'll be writing 50,000 words where people die, get tortured, lose their sanity, ect...-_-

Good.
Excellent. Actually, the one short story I have on here is Human/Fae (which, in my writings, are rather like elves...though the Fae are technically faeries, I write the ancient legendary ones, and not the disney influenced ones...)

Well, technically original Elves aren't beautiful looking,(I follow the Tolkien style) so I have no problems with that

So do I...I prefer Tolkien's beautiful elves, not the ugly ones, or the tiny little Disney ones...but my sometimes end up being more dangerous...

Yeah, part of the reasons why I couldn't get into Harry Potter. (Though I feel in the movie they made the Elves' ugliness to an extreme)
Dangerous like a manipulative, femme fatale type?

Well, I got into Harry Potter...but then, the 6th and 7th books nearly drove me insane...I hated them.
(Yes, they did...I got through it by reminding myself that she was probably thinking of Brownies...still annoyed me.)
Some of them are dangerous like that...each character has their own way...

Tekamza In reply to LadyBrookeCelebwen [2011-10-31 02:24:53 +0000 UTC]
Yeah, in some ways I wouldn't question if someone told those creatures were goblins.. It's really hard to like them when characters are portrayed differently from how you vision it
I'm really interested in how some of your characters are dangerous One day I'd like to hear about them
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
LadyBrookeCelebwen In reply to Tekamza [2011-11-01 02:31:24 +0000 UTC]
Well that....and they just annoyed me no matter what they were called (aside from Kreature...he was okay.) because of how they acted...
Well, it depends on the individual story...some of them are femme fatales, as you said, and others are dangerous because of the skills they have (thousands of years to practice killing people tends to do that...) and others draw you in, and make you trust them...before they slowly rip your soul to shreds.
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
Tekamza In reply to LadyBrookeCelebwen [2011-11-01 04:17:07 +0000 UTC]
Though original Elves are impish creatures (well, I guess they were kind of portrayed as a rather timid beings) so it works... but I guess I like the Tolkien style too much
Oh awesome.. the last kind's the scariest And I probably won't be conscious that my soul's being ripped (maybe it's a good thing..?)

Lol, no. I'm more on the...sweet, but will let you know if you upset me type of personality...the only time I'm vicious is if somebody attacks me or tries to rape me or something...and then, I can do some harm....

Of all the things, it reminded me a parody creature "blackcap" from a story I read long ago. (Pretty much it has the same nature as the redcaps but I think it was nocturnal or something)
Don't let those goblins take over you
OK, I like that personality (It makes me crazy when I really have to read into it to figure out what someone's thinking)
And yeah, I think your response in those situations are normal..

That's cool that you're trained I only know few so I'm curious to see other methods (as long as I'm watching it though.. Serious damage... brr

Lol, no I don't.
Yeah...that's true.
Good. Lol, of course it is. Even if half my friends on here don't agree with everything I say or believe...at least the respect my right to that.
Yep! My dad's been doing this since I was really little, and Grandmaster (his instructor) always let my sister and I go to classes. And use pressure points to beat up ex-marines who came to class, which was always fun....My dad does a bit of everything, but specialized in wing chun and other methods that lack a name anybody who doesn't attend class would know (like the G.M.C. 2000, which doesn't refer to the vehicle...but rather, the weapon used in the class) (Lol! Well, I always get to train with my dad, and he's careful to not do any bad damage...except I do loads to him, so it's slightly unfair...)

It's important to respect others' opinion
Can't stand it when someone forces their opinion though... I'll listen, incorporate it if I believe is legit. But if it's forced upon me, I'll simply ignore it
Hmm, pressure points.. Makes sense, you're anatomically disabling your target that way. And yeah, you definitely don't Wing Chun as a "common" martial art Most people go for Aikido for self defense.
...Be gentle with your dad

Yes, it is very important to...
Neither can I. I like debate, and could debate all day. But if people force their opinion on me, without giving me a chance to explain my own opinion...I simply ignore that person's ideas...
And they're easy for somebody as small as I am to do...and way easier when I first started training, when I was like 5 and 40 lbs... Nope, it's not a common one.
...I am. (Except when he tells me not to...)

Though.. (little different, but) there's been couple times that I had to push my thoughts to colleagues at work due to time constraints and still regret doing that to this day
BTW, just out of curiosity, why is it easier if you're smaller?
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
LadyBrookeCelebwen In reply to Tekamza [2012-01-04 03:28:05 +0000 UTC]
Yeah, same here...though at school, not work, but still. I wish it could have been done differently...
Lol, not smaller for anyone to learn (it's about equal) but it's one of the easier martial arts, in my experience, for smaller people to learn. Mainly because it doesn't really rely on muscles, weight, strength, etc, to be able to do something - a 40 lbs 5 year old, and a 200 lbs 6 ft tall muscular guy, can have about the same effectiveness, because it all relies on pressure points...

I try to tell myself that it's a lesson learned on how to react, but it's still hard..
Uh-huh.. I guess if pressure points can be used for curing, it could also be used for inflicting damage. (I should've paid more attention at the seminar when I worked as a Chiropractic assistant)
