How do you get that grainy texture...like on the nose?

Thanks! I'm not entirely sure how I managed to get that grainy texture to be honest, I think it's just a combination of the texture of the slightly rough paper showing through and also me really layering on the white chalk in an attempt to make it whiter. Hope that's slightly helpful

Thanks! And yeah I love white pastel on black paper too, it gives it a different sort of atmosphere to the picture.

Wohh I just looked at your gallery and you are seriously amazing at digital painting! I especially love 'Intense Cesc', it's so good I thought you'd put it in the digital paintings gallery by mistake
And yeah I feel the need to do some more traditional work, because recently I've just been doing photoshop stuffs and now we're remeniscing I sort of miss having a good old-fashioned piece of chalk in my hand..!
