Description
This was a commission that went foul. I wasn't able to make the client happy on this one alas, but still, I had fun painting it.Acrylic on canvas.

It's a lovely scene, very good job on characters, details and colour, even scenary is worked and beautiful. I like how she looks him, congrats with this deviation.

This is a very nice picture reminiscent of Renaissance Italian masters. Excellent composition and detailing.
It does look a little on the dark side though. Maybe your scanner was set a little too dark?

Well, he didn't like the background, said it looked fake, and that the mood of the couple wasn't capture, he didn't feel they were in love. In the end, it is a tough business, we as artists can't please all of the people all of the time and art is so subjective that it can be tough to know if this will love up to the clients vision and taste.
Oh well, I tried, and was sad he didn't like it in the end.
However, even harsh criticism is a good thing, it makes us want to try harder next time.

It sure is impossible to please to everyone, and we cannot judge the tastes, anyway it's plain to the eye you spent alot on time on this !
I mean, for an attempt that went foul you kinda outdid yourself anyway : that should give even to your client envy to pass on other subjects to you... well not easy, but you know what I mean.
I do really hope it doesn't make you regret to take on commissions !

Definitely doesn't put me off taking commissions, I have to look at everything in a positive light, and I can't take offense, as I said, art is so subjective.
