Oh, i change mine all the time. The way i do the grips is: Paint them in 2d, extrude them to the desired "thickness", then draw a semi-circle (or rounded rectangle) on both sides at the bottom and use the "follow" tool. Do you have a program to render your models?

Thanks, that's definitely what I should have done. I made this when I was still quite new to Sketch-Up, and eager to blast out a high number of models. And no, I never got around to finding a program like that. It would have been useful, as Sketch-Up is rather primitive. No multiple light sources and such.

I like that design too, has something very "AK-ish". Indeed you can find it with the old Necromunda miniatures, as well as on some designs when they were about to reinvent the imperial guard visuals.
I was about to recreate it myself in Google Sketchup, but now i'm kind of discouraged ^^

Thanks. It definitely reminds me of the AK assault rifles, which is a refreshing change from the whole Starship troopers-image of the Cadians.
I'm sure you could do a better job than me, this is a very crude rendering. Notice how the pistol grip looks like it's carved out of a wooden board. Almost makes me want to go back and change it.
