I wanted her to look kind of alien, which is why I decided not to give her hair and exaggerated her eyes a bit. I sent my sketch to my character design professor who suggested the astrology tattoos for her head so she looked a bit less like a wig-less mannequin. I rendered all the astrology symbols myself so I wouldn't have to rely on clip art.

I want to design all nine muses, but so far Urania is the only one that's really worked with me when it comes to designing her. Her outfit and everything seemed to come pretty easy as soon as I decided certain things. I want to use the muses as an opportunity to try and get out of my comfort zone, character design-wise. I'm thinking Clio (history), Thalia (comedy), Melpomene (tragedy) or Calliope (epic poetry) will be my next one. I have somewhere to start with those ones, at least, but still not 100% clear on what i want to do.
