Been working on the sketches for this on and off for about three months. You wouldn't think that cartoony designs would be hard to reproduce, but here's an interesting fact: the simpler the design, the more every mistake stands out. So, yeah, I took breaks from this while working.

So, I love the Rayman games. I'm a Johnny-come-lately to the series, but damn these are fun. Barbara, the barbarian princess, quickly secured her position as my favorite character. They have no speaking line and there are no real cut-scenes to establish her character, but the animations give soooooo much personality. I knew I was going to have to draw her at some point.
The artwork is based on sprites from the game, though later parts of this series will be entirely my own. The background is actual artwork from the game (I cheated on that, but wouldn't you? Look at those details!).
Here, Barbara has encountered the evil Teensy Magician in the enchanted forest. What has this dark foe got in mind for our barbarian princess? If you know me, you can probably guess, but either way, you'll find out soon.
