Happy... almost birthday to me, happy almost birthday to me, 2022 is a pile of poo but happy almost birthday to me. And to celebrate my... almost birthday while also getting some more content out? I think it's time I ease it a little on the negativity because... yeah June kind of had that angle to it. Look what can I say, 2022 hasn't left me with much in the way of reasons to be positive but I am still gonna try... by posting this thing which would probably be better suited for Halloween and also has to start with something at least a tiny bit negative because... real talk can we just admit that Sonic.exe, even with all his reworkings and so on is just kind of a dumb concept?

I'm sorry to those who are probably looking at this and thinking to themselves of all the good content that has been made featuring this blue blur that has... clearly not left his edgelord phase of his teens but with all due respect, the Sonic.exe concept is one of those creepypasta ideas that just isn't interesting. At best, he's like tons of Sonic OCs already, edgy for the sake of it, kind of unoriginal in the design department and also as a horror fan? His story is loaded with just so many clichés that it's hard to find the thing scary. Finally as a hardcore Sonic fan? I just find the idea of someone like this scaring anybody in the Sonic universe downright hilarious considering folks... do y'all realize how many world-ending threats and eldritch abominations Sonic and co. have faced off with? Seriously it's kind of hilarious how for a series that started off being so lighthearted and about just a blue hedgehog bopping an egg-shaped scientist in the noggin for being an ass to animals, Sonic has faced off against some horrifying beast every other Tuesday and that's not even getting into the comics which had him face off against things such as a zombie (Technically not but... come on.) chuffing apocalypse. So with that in mind? I created this for one specific purpose, to kind of visualize how Sonic might react to something like this and overall? I kind of like how this turned out. Now I obviously cannot take credit for the sprites. For the sprite of regular Sonic, I used a sprite-sheet off of Spriter's Resource that had loads of custom additional sprites and used one of him eating a chilidog and one of him giving a bored expression to combine them into this look and as for Exe? I pulled from the vs. Sonic.exe mod for Friday Night Funkin which has a section of one of the tracks shift into a Sega Genesis aesthetic complete with sprites that are sized like Genesis sprites. I simply took one of the poses, edited it to be a more standard look for this character but also went out of my way to dull and darken the colors to give him more of a unique appearance from the blue blur. The background if I remember correctly also came from the mod and took a lot of work to edit it into the colors of Hill Act 1. Then I resized it and added the speech bubbles and I was finished.
