Description
Iterations of a redesign of the HMG-38 rifle, based on the illustrations in the Fall of Reach comic adaptation. The gun in the comics is a bit sketchy and it's not even clear if it's a normal mag-forward configuration or a bullpup, so I made versions of both. I modeled several of its features based on Infinite's VK78, since both guns are made by the same company in-universe.
Versions:
- 1st row: Bare essentials, without any attachments
- 2nd row: Reflex sight, cheek rest, vertical foregrip
- 3rd row: Smart targeting computer suite and advanced optics package/laser rangefinder
- 4th row: Smart targeting computer suite, basic optics
- 5th row: The previous, without vertical foregrip
And yeah, I'm aware it's more like a heavy assault rifle or a SAW at most rather than a heavy machine gun. That's just a weird naming detail that's been there since the book.
