Description
Most advanced locomotive drawing yet; compensating suspension gear, motion bracket, fully sectioned cylinder, shading, and a reasonably-stayed firebox. For those who can't read cursive script, the list in the upper corner reads; Heusinger Valve Gear, Oblong Single Kylchap Exhaust, Oil-fired 275 PSI boiler, and Equalized Coil spring suspension.
Undecided on the track gauge. But it does have a cab similar to the one on Boise Tramway Number 7 , very low profile.
Did Ross-style Pop valves on the firebox for once, in place of the old-fashioned Ramsbottom type. I even detailed a whistle and it's control linkage, styled after the Bell whistle form, with the valve lever on top. Tried to get the brick arch in the firebox about right, I'm still not sure about it. I really should draw the next locomotive with superheating, I keep putting advanced blastpipe modifications (the singular oblong Kylchap in this drawing), but all of the boilers I've drawn sectioned like this have been saturated. Last I checked, superheating was a thing before improved exhausts were applied, so I don't know what would result from saturated boiler/advanced exhaust combination.
The smokebox door is styled more after British Railway's practice, with a vertical bar inside the smokebox for the dart to grab onto when clamping the door shut.
Also, Belpaire firebox. This one narrows at the bottom like a regular GWR one to fit between the frames. And there's the American "Pull-Out" style regulator. Probably also fitted with lever-reverse. Right-hand drive only.
Fitted with plain bearings throughout, because it's only a light duty engine. Wasn't quite sure how to design Compensating Coil Spring suspension, which is why it looks like half-done regular leaf-spring suspension, except the "leaves" are solid bars to connect with the rest of the rig.

I like this design. Very interesting to look at, logical, and quite honestly I could see this roaming around a little narrow gauge road, or a short line if sheβs standard gauge. Fabulous work!
