There's something that bugs me, that I was hoping you could explain. Namekian fusion seems really OP (at least before Super nerfed it), so how do you explain the power increase?

So. Another Piccolo relevancy question. You may deal with it differently in DBR and make my question moot, which would be fine. Anyway.
So in canon DBZ, Piccolo fuses with Nail on Namek. Dr. Gero stated he didn't follow their battles in space, which means Piccolo should already be many times stronger than anything Gero predicted (as he should be a bit below SSJ Goku or Vegeta level, I suppose). Gero doesn't really freak when he sees Piccolo being stronger because they are all stronger than he expected, but I feel like Piccolo should be WAY stronger in Gero's eyes to the point that it should be like crisis scenario? Nevermind the Super Saiyans.

I dunno. Piccolo didn't really unleash his full power until his actual match with Gero. And at that point, there was no real reason to freak out over Piccolo alone after already getting a read on Vegeta (I think the gap is a bit bigger than you're suggesting, too). He justifiably starts to break down over the entire situation instead: "Shit, this was all a mistake. I need 17 & 18 if I don't want to die. That'll make them pay for this." blah blah blah.
DBR is a whole different mess. Unlike Trunks' timeline where things played out more as we'd expect, the main timeline will see Models 13-20 all being released at the same time, in pairs, to attack the capital cities. I never planned out this portion of the project in detail so that I wouldn't have to keep changing things, but the intention is for the heroes to split up. Meaning Gero may not have that interaction with Piccolo.

He could be by that point if the fan wanted him to be, but I'm going to have him keep a little, tiny spark of his demon heritage till this point in the series; and the smallest sliver of evil is all Babidi needs to enslave you. I think it will work out fairly nice for the shock factor to the characters in-universe, as well as allow me to use a what-if from the games.

Nothing to apologize for. Weird equates to unique, which we all are. So enjoy your love of tall, green men...though I'm not sure where you'd find a real one? Maybe just find a normal guy and paint him green, or I guess you could inject 'em with chlorophyll, but I'm not sure how well that would work out.
