Something that just clicked to me - with Vegeta and Piccolo both being enslaved, it's the Demon King and the Demon Prince.
Wonder how Vegeta feels about getting the lesser title.

According to the Daizenshuu, Babidi's technique take you beyond your current potential. So after continued training for seven years, he'll maintain his position in the SS tier before the possession and roughly SS2 tier after.

After the Cell Arc, Piccolo trains, but not as harshly as he used to now that he has both Kami and Nail calming him down. He gets stronger in the 7 years leading up to the Buu Arc, but doesn't reach the full potential of how strong he could be if he was a complete training junkie like Vegeta. When Babidi enslaves him, he gets his power boosted to his current max potential, and then gets boosted a bit beyond that.
For Vegeta, he trained so hard in those seven years that he's nearly caught up with Goku, who was a good chunk stronger than him at the Cell Games, even though he had the limitations of a living body. He's closed in on wall that is slowing his progress and needs to be broken down, because the gap between him and Goku is still big enough that his rival would probably pull out a victory no matter how many times they fought. Babidi's enslaving him allows him to hit that wall and then bust it down, bringing him even with Goku, who had no wall because he was dead.
If you want it in numbers, I can put it like that too, though they aren't the numbers from the project. lol Something like this:
SS2 Goku: 550,000
SS2 Vegeta
Current: 500,000
Potential: 510,000
Enslaved: 550,000
Piccolo
Current: 270,000
Potential: 490,000
Enslaved: 535,000

Oh, I understand where you're coming from now. I kept looking at it like "it makes Piccolo roughly twice as strong, so Vegeta must only be half of Goku". I just wasn't thinking about the Majin charm the right way, thanks for clearing that up.
So do you believe Vegeta/Piccolo can surpass their current potential without the Majin charm? Or would they hit their potential and stop growing?

They could do it, it would just be really hard. To me, the characters power is kinda like a dam. They have to build up their power until it reaches the current maximum capacity. Once they hit that limit, it takes a considerable amount of effort to cause it to overflow and break it down. Though once they manage to bypass it, they have another wall they have to work towards. They'll have a faster power growth rate until they start to close in on the new dam, and the process repeats itself with no true limit, in true shonen style.
Also, a character's potential can change over time with age and physical condition, even if they don't manage to overcome a limit. That last part sounds confusing, even to me as I read it though, so back to numbers as an example.
Below, assume that Goku broke the wall set by his previous potential when he was a kid. Afterward, he never trained extensively again, he just did some light exercises to maintain his health until he became an adult:
Goku
Previous Potential Wall: 1,000
Current Power: 1,300
Next Potential Wall (Age 13): 2,500
Next Potential Wall (Age 21): 3,500

That's mostly how I see it, the only time I would believe their is truly a definite wall they could not get past is with the Old Kaioshin's ritual. I think someone would be well and truly maxed out after that point.

I'd agree if we weren't dealing with Saiyans.
For pure-bloods, like Vegeta; If you go by DBO, a Saiyan's body stays in its physical prime till they are around 70, meaning they are roughly in their 20s physically for about 50 years. As long as they are in that phase, I think the pure-bloods have no limit, as they are a warrior race designed to gain power.
For hybirds, like Gohan; We don't know if they have the same extended prime as the pure-bloods, but I imagine they might stay younger at least a little longer than a normal human because of their Saiyan genes. I do think the hybrids also have infinite potential until they start to pass their prime as well. At the very least, that would be their 20s, maaaaybe late 30s or early 40s at max. Gohan was only 18 during the ritual, so he probably had a couple of years to get stronger, though improvements afterward would be more difficult than before. And by the time Uub comes around, any progress he would make would probably be very minimal.
I guess thats a good thing then. lol I just like being clear. Sometimes I'm not sure if my wording makes it seem like I'm talking in circles.

The idea of Gohan getting stronger than we've already seen is pretty crazy, though. I see the ritual as drawing out lifelong potential, as opposed to current potential. It's certainly made out to be more amazing than any of the other methods around.
Now I'm intrigued by how Ultimate Gohan stacks up in GT - compared to the new players like Baby, Super 17, the SS4's and the dragons. I guess he'd be irrelevant, right?

Well, my last number crunch didn't really give him all that crazy of a power up in terms of drawing out actual potential. His power was more than fitting after just multiplying his base after training with the Z Sword by his Super Saiyan forms (up to SS3, despite not actually unlocking it) and his Rage Boost. It was really just more of a "here, lets give you access to all your current power without silly triggers or conditions".
As for how Gohan would stand against the GT villains, here were the last numbers I crunched for that part of the series: [link] (Click on "powers", obviously.) I warn you though, the last time I messed with these numbers (besides tossing 'em in this document) was like a year ago. They are very outdated and no longer mesh with the list I've started for the first few arcs in DB for the project.

No problem. For that list though, it could't really be helped if I wanted to try and maintain some sort of balance for the characters.
After the Buu Arc and Gohan's power boost, there are at least 4 more major battles. Gohan will be very prominent in them, seeing how he's almost 3 times stronger than SS3 Goku right after Buu, and not even Goku can close that gap quickly. So before GT starts in full force, I like the idea of having SS3 Goku, SS3 Vegeta and SS3 Gotenks close to Gohan, but not yet surpassing him because I want Gohan to still be relevant but not so much stronger that he make everyone else obsolete. But doing that causes a major problem for GT itself.
I have Vegeta and Goku fairly neck and neck in their powers, so when Bebi infects Vegeta, he'll of course surpass Goku. Now, even if I don't stick to the series' logic of having Bebi Vegeta's first real form surpassing SS3 Goku, Bebi is still going to be strong enough to warrant the transformation to SS4. For that form, I didn't really want to increase SS4's multiplier from the Super Oozaru, but if I don't, Goku will never be able to beat Bebi and if I lower the parasites power then Gohan would be the sole fighter in the spotlight again. So I thought it best to just go with a simple 2x increase as a logical progression...but it makes everyone else dirt in comparison.
That said, its something I'm going to have to try and address in the list revision when I get there, but it won't be easy. I don't like leaving everyone else in the mud, but I'll probably be forced to do it anyway...I guess it doesn't really matter though, Goku and Vegeta will die and be out of the spotlight not long after that, so the power scale will drop again.

How strong would the Majin boost make him? It was able to close the gap between Vegeta and Goku, but I can't imagine that being a huge boost. I think it might even be a stretch to bring Piccolo to Super Saiyan Gohan's level.
