Description
I was focused on the flower, when this big bee bumbled it's way into the frame...
by quite literally making a crash landing onto the stamen.

Such a total surprise shot too.
Buzzed right past my ear. I couldn't believe the image wasn't burred beyond recognition when I jerked back.

welcome!
I've got a Fuju S1500, it is pretty good, but not as good as I thought when I bought it... well hey, I'm no photographer

The S1500 is very similar to my S602Z,
but they left out some of the 602's manual features like the focus ring. The changes to the lens assembly to accomodate greater zoom lengths also introduced some CA flaws like heavier fringing in high contrast areas.
I gotta say the new HS10/HS11s are very nice - considering they're P&S.

Some people have all the luck, insects are usually camera shy around me, not keen to get in the picture - nice capture.

LOL! like I said in the previous commentor's reply, after jerkin my head back so quick - the fact that the flower is still in focus at all is amazing.

Sometimes you just get lucky, an underrated tool in the photographer's arsenal and responsible for many outstanding shots. We have a carpenter bee here that is a bit over an inch long and nearly as wide, they sound like propeller driven bomber going past but I have never been able to catch one never mind photograph one. Don't think I'd like to get hit by one either.

Amazing detail in that macro, and I love the perspective.

I almost blew the whole thing
I naturally jerked back when the bee buzzed past from behind me...
within an inch of my ear!
