Original “Kannlan class Destroyer” by “Admiral Kruger” [link]

Modified by me for a “Rifts” RPG game, the modified version is called the “Bravo Type” it’s a universal hull that can be easily modified to suit any mission, that is, the base design can be changed for different roles before the ship is built, once built for a certain mission, it can’t be altered without a major refit.

The light of hope.

By mid 199CE the war was over, the Separatists either dead or imprisoned for war crimes, and peace was slowly returning to the Alliance, but it would take many years to repair all the damage that had been caused, the first task was feeding the starving populations of the former Separatist controlled worlds, and once again the Transporters returned to doing what they did best, move supplies and lots of it, the Stormers and Harassers (striped of their combat cargo) joined in the effort, and by the beginning of 200CE the colonies were thriving again.

The people of the Ederen Alliance had all ways been proud of their “Star Guard”, those few who had stood against powerful nations with fleets many times larger than their own, but now, after all that had happened, after the terror of the last decade and seeing the dedication to freedom for all the people of the alliance, their pride in the Star Guard was unequalled, especially because they knew.... they knew that while they were living “normal” lives the Star Guard would continue to defend them against all enemies yet to come.

Devastating power - Devastating price.

By 210CE the Alliance had almost returned to normal, and the StarGuard was now looking to the future, they began to prepare for a possible attack from a Major Power (not knowing that most of their neighbours had developed a grudging respect for the StarGuards power, or that the TGE was occupied with the CCW (Consortium of Civilized Worlds) & uprisings of their own) by calling for a War ship design that could stand against a battleship, this would lead to the development of the “Devastator” class of Battleship, this powerhouse seamed to meet all the criteria the StarGuard had wanted, however it proved to be far to expensive for mass production in a time of peace and with most of the alliances budget going to rebuilding the colonies that had been devastated during the war. Only two “Devastator” class Battleships would be built before the program was indefinitely suspended (thought not cancelled, more can be built if needed and rather quickly), the EAS (Ederen Alliance Ship) “Devastator” was assigned as the flag ship of the 1st (Star Fire) Fleet, while the EAS “Invincible” (named for the old destroyer class that served the alliance for 148 years) joined the 4th (Celestial) Fleet , both ships would serve with distinction for decades (in 237CE a TGE “DoomBringer Dreadnaught “ that was harassing civilian transports in free space near the Alliance border was engaged and subsequently destroyed by the “Invincible” proving the capabilities of the design).
