Description
Hey, guys!People keep asking me what I use to draw and how I get my lines so clean. Now I'm going to show you!
CLICK HERE TO NAVIGATE TO THE VIDEO:
Anyways, this was largely due to a Tumblr request I got today (yesterday?). Sort of the last straw to break the camel's back. I'm tired of typing everything.
Basically this is me, through sheer power of will and ingenuity, finding a way to film myself drawing. It involves the re-purposing of a vanity case. Don't ask.
Please let me know if this was at all helpful! I really only wanna share what I know and if I don't do that effectively, then that's a problem.
Thanks, guys!

so the Faber-Castell gum eraser is better than, say #2 erasers, yes?
if I may ask, what type of pen is that? thank you.

That's awesome! I knew some things by myself (like the deep lines) but I never thought of using the "putty" eraser. Haven't even thought about that since I was about 12 or something. Guess I'm gonna be doing some shopping soon!

This is me letting you know that this was indeed helpful! Lemme tell ya I got excited when I noticed the tutorial folder you had lol but yes, this did help. Honestly, I did not even know there was a way to get pencil lines on the computer and to make the white part transparent until like... A month ago. I've always done lines digitally and even after years it's still a huge pain. So I'm always glad to pick up on things like this, oi.
And I just wanted to mention how it's funny that you mentioned not having a lightbox. I just got one... Yesterday...? Or the day before, anyway, before then I would take the shades off the lamps and turn them on under the glass coffee table... A+ compromising

It's not a pen. It's a pencil. I explain everything in the video.

I am so glad you posted this because I have a kneaded eraser or "putty" eraser and I didn't know how to really use it properly to get the best results but this video helped fix that! P.S. in the video you said that it wasn't the best drawing but I think it was super amazing! I try to draw, like, in a cartoon-ish style but can never make it look right. You're just like BAM bunch of cartoon-ish sketches and other stuff and I'm over here like

Bless your heart for sharing this! XD One of the reasons I started getting into digital art instead of traditional is because it was such a struggle to keep my lines clean. I'm going to have to fish out my kneaded eraser and give this method a shot. I really liked your tutorial though, super helpful, and your voice is really charming.

FINALLY got around to watching this! (ffffff so late :'D)
Can I just start off by saying that you are really adorable in your videos? xD You present a really pleasant energy and demeanor and seem like you have a great personality and its very refreshing and fun!
I loved your previous videos and this one is great too. I knew about kneaded (or putty) erasers from drawing classes, but using them and thinking of them as the same way you draw with layers is a really neat way of looking at it! :0 And I like your steamroller effect! I've never tried that before, but more sort of blotted over a drawing to pick up the lines and smudge. I'm also right there with you on drawing with pencil and paper-- it just feels more natural than the tablet as far as sketches go.
You have a lot of helpful advice and watching you draw is really exciting! :3
