Snotlout was sent by Stoick to check on Hiccup, who faked being sick to get out of working at Gobber's forge that day. Hiccup then told Snotlout he had something very important to show him, and that he wanted him to swear not to tell anybody not even Stoick. Hiccup brought E.T. whom he originally believed to be a troll out of his closet while Snotlout turned around and had his eyes closed. He then turns around and sees Hiccup nervously standing next to the creature. Snotlout knows what trolls look like, and he knows that whatever E.T. is, is NOT a troll
