In case you guys were wondering what I've been doing art wise in school this year, I was in a digital modeling class! This was my final assignment, and I'm honestly pretty proud of it. I modeled it using NURBS (kind of like a curve tool) entirely from memory; so, naturally, it ended up looking like a character from Club Penguin. Next year I'm on to my 3D animation course, as well as a portfolio class!

Going through this class has definitely taught me to have a much better appreciation for 3D/CGI animators (even though I already appreciated them a lot before). For me, personally, it's a lot harder to capture expression and movement in this kind of medium than it would be in a drawing or painting, and making things look smooth is pretty difficult (unless you're using NURBS, but that has its downsides as well).
