This mask has become such a symbol over the years. Most anarchists, protestors, freedom fighters have worn this mask as a symbol.
And to quote a lovely gentleman on the matter...

"Symbols are given power by the people. Alone, a symbol is meaningless, but with enough people, blowing up a building can change the world."

I cannot tell you how much I adore V for Vendetta. I own the graphic novel, and the film, have watched it dozens of time, have actually memorized his introduction speech XD
It is a fantastic tale with perhaps some of the best quotes relating to the world and the people within it I have seen in my time!
The story is a symbol in itself that many of us turn to at some point or another and I commend people to give it a watch (if you're up to some fast-paced action, drama and some serious mind-blowingness o.o)
The debate generated on V's enigma of a character is bloody fascinating. Was he an anarchist, pure and simple? Was he a freedom fighter, only after peace? In a world as corrupt as the one he fought in, who's right and who's wrong??

Alan Moore is certainly a brilliant twisted writer (also did Watchmen, might I add)

But yes....
